Note: This special warranty program only affects ULA18xxx wheels with a size of 22.5" x 8.25". UPDATE - When Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) notified Transport Canada about this problem, they believed that it may cause a rapid air loss of a tire. After further investigation, DTNA has determined that this problem would not result in a rapid air loss. Accordingly, this safety recall was withdrawn. Safety Risk: This problem does not pose a safety risk. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall and will be addressed under a special warranty program offered by Alcoa, the wheel supplier. This notice is for information only and is not being conducted under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Safety Act. If you notice any cracks on the inner flange of the steer axle wheels, you should contact Alcoa at 1-800-242-9898.

DTNA recommends that drivers should pay special attention to tire inflation, loading and make extra inspections of the tire tread and sidewall before and after each trip.

If this happens, the broken clutch components could prevent the transmission from disengaging or shifting to neutral. This could result in unintended vehicle movement, even if the parking brake is applied. Note: This recall replaces FL-803 (Transport Canada recall 2018-714). Trucks that were repaired under that recall also require this repair. Safety Risk: Sudden and unexpected movement of the vehicle could create a risk of injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to replace the clutch and update the transmission software.

A jumper harness will also be added. For vehicles equipped with a Cummins engine, the final repair has not yet been finalized. As an interim repair, the 3-pin brake pressure switch will be replaced with a new 3-pin brake pressure switch. A follow up notice will be sent to those owners when the final repair is available.

    Certain trucks were equipped with Bridgestone M864, M860A or M854 wide-base tires, size 425/65R22.5, that may not conform to the endurance testing requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 119 - Tires for vehicles other than passenger cars. A manufacturing problem could cause a bulge or blister to be present in the sidewall of the tires. Over time, this could cause deterioration of the tire's structure and lead to a sudden tire failure that may increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Authorized Daimler Trucks North America service facilities will replace affected tires.

    On certain trucks built with a Cummins X15 or ISX15 engine equipped with nylon fuel lines and a banjo bolt on the fuel pump, a blockage in the fuel cooling system may cause a fuel line to burst. This could result in a significant fuel leak onto the roadway, which would create a road hazard for other motorists. Additionally, this condition could also cause an engine stall without warning, without the ability to restart the engine. Both of these conditions may increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Cummins-authorized dealers will replace the affected nylon line with a steel line.

    Certain vehicles may fail to conform to the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 121 - Air Brake Systems and CMVSS 136 - Electronic Stability Control Systems for Heavy Vehicles. When the ignition is cycled off and then on within a few seconds, the Instrument Control Unit (ICU) may not perform the indicator lamp check as required by the standards. This could potentially confuse an inspector who may believe that the ABS or ESC is not functioning correctly should the ignition be cycled too quickly from on-to-off-to-on during a vehicle inspection. Correction: Daimler Trucks of North America Service Facilities will reprogram the ICU. For vehicles with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System, the Electronic Control Unit will also be replaced.

A drip shield will be mounted inside the cab over the SAM chassis if not previously installed.
