  Issue: On certain motorhomes, the brackets for the front lower cap may not be attached properly. As a result, the brackets could loosen and separate from the vehicle. Safety Risk: A bracket that detaches from a vehicle could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Thor Motor Coach will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a dealership to inspect the brackets for the front cap and replace the mounting hardware. The dealership will also install new brackets, if necessary.

  Issue: On certain motorhomes equipped with frameless windows, the adhesive that attaches the vented portion of the windows may fail. If this happens, the glass could separate and fall from the motorhome. Safety Risk: A window that detaches from the motorhome could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Action: Thor Motor Coach will notify owners by mail and instruct you to bring your motorhome to an authorized dealer or service center to inspect and replace the vent window glass, as required.

  Issue: Certain motorhomes built on a Freightliner chassis could have a problem with the rear-mounted Power Distribution Module (PDM). This could cause the tail lights not to work properly. Note: This is an expansion of recall 2018-596. Vehicles that had an inspection, but did not have the PDM replaced under the previous recall, require a second repair under this recall. Safety Risk: Brake lights or turn signals that do not work could cause a following driver not to recognize that a vehicle ahead is braking or intends to turn. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Thor Motor Coach will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their motorhome to a Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) authorized service facility to replace the PDM.

  Issue: On certain motorhomes, the vehicle control system software may be defective. The software may allow various components in the motorhome to operate at random and without warning. This could result in sudden movement of the slide-out room(s). Safety Risk: If a slide-out room moves suddenly and without warning, it could create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to update the motorhome's Multiplex system.

  On certain motorhomes equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. This could result in the wiper system being loose, which could limit the driver’s visibility under certain conditions which may increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the wiper system to verify that the original recall repair was completed correctly, and will repair as necessary. Note: This recall supersedes recalls 2017-078 and 2017-172. A portion of vehicles repaired under the previous recall will require re-inspection and repair.

Correction: Daimler Trucks of North America Dealers will modify the sway bar mounting surface.

If the mounting bracket assembly were to break apart, the awning can collapse, which could strike another vehicle, a stationary object, or a bystander, causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will replace the defective screws.

  On certain vehicles equipped with Frigidaire KG series microwaves, a defect in the microwave oven keypad could cause the oven to activate without pressing any keys. This could result in excessive heat, smoke or possibly a fire. Correction: Dealers will replace affected circuit boards. In the interim, consumers should unplug their microwave ovens, if possible. If the consumer is unable to unplug the microwave, they should leave the door ajar until the microwave is replaced.

  On certain vehicles, the connector for the brake and cruise control signal diode jumper assembly may come loose, resulting in a possible intermittent or continuously open circuit. Two circuits are potentially affected. One circuit disengages the cruise control with brake pedal application, and the other circuit illuminates the brake lights with brake application. Failure of the cruise control to disengage, or of the brake lights to illuminate when the brake pedal is depressed, could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will verify that the locking tabs on the diode jumper assembly connector are fully engaged and locked into place.
