  Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the vehicle is reversing. Note: This recall also affects Grand Cherokee L models and Grand Wagoneer L models. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners in writing and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the radio software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at an FCA dealership.

  Issue: On certain vehicles, the wiring for the 400 W radiator cooling fan module may not have proper circuit protection. Additionally, the bearing for the fan could fail. If this happens, the wiring could overheat and melt before the fuse blows. Safety Risk: Wiring that overheats and melts could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the cooling fan module and fuse. The dealer will also install a label on the power distribution center and add an insert to the owner's manual.

Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the electric drive module. The dealer will also update the software for the motor control processor, battery processor control module, integrated dual charge module and electric vehicle control unit.

Safety Risk: A parked vehicle that moves suddenly could create the risk of an injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the powertrain control module (PCM) calibration software. The dealer will also inspect and, if necessary, replace the transmission or parts inside the transmission. To reduce the safety risk, FCA Canada recommends that you should always use the parking brake when you park.

If a driver attempts to exit the vehicle while the transmission is not in the Park position, and the parking brake is not applied, the vehicle could move suddenly. Safety Risk: Sudden and unexpected movement of the vehicle could increase the risk of a crash. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will replace the suspect Kidde fire extinguisher with a new Kidde fire extinguisher with a steel nozzle.   Certain vehicles may fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 208 - Occupant Protection in Frontal Impacts. The sunvisor airbag warning label, User Guides and Owner’s Information DVDs incorrectly identify the vehicle’s passenger and driver frontal airbag systems as “Advanced Airbags”. In the event that occupants rely on the Owner’s Information or User Guide, they may position themselves closer to the airbag than they would if compliant information regarding the airbag system had been provided, which may increase the risk of injury to a front seat occupant in a crash where frontal airbag deployment is warranted. Correction: FCA Canada will provide vehicle owners with a supplement to the Owner’s Information DVD and User Guide to reflect the use of non-advanced airbags. Additionally, FCA Canada will also provide a replacement sunvisor airbag warning label to identify airbags as non-advanced.

Correction: Dealers will relocate the CAN-C bus communication connector to under the instrument panel. Connectors exhibiting signs of corrosion will be replaced.

  On certain vehicles equipped with a 3.0L diesel engine, hydraulic brake boost compensation and Electronic Stability Control (ESC), the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module may have been programmed incorrectly. If the driver commands the ESC to be off, and then cycles the ignition key off and back on within 10 seconds, the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module may not reset the ESC system back to active status. If the system is not active, the vehicle may be inadvertently driven without the ESC system activated, which may increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the ABS module. Note: Should this occur, the driver would be alerted that the ESC system is not active by the "ESC OFF" warning light illuminating.
