Issue: On certain side-by-side UTVs, the steering wheel may have been damaged during shipping to the dealership. As a result, the steering wheel spokes could break while driving. If this happens, the steering wheel could separate and cause a loss of steering control. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall 2021-662. Vehicles that had the steering wheel replaced under the previous recall do not require this repair. Safety Risk: A loss of steering could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Polaris recommends that you should not drive your vehicle until this recall is completed. Polaris will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the steering wheel.

This recall was replaced by Transport Canada Recall No. 2022-381. Issue: On certain side-by-side UTVs, the steering wheel may have been damaged during shipping to the dealership. Issue: On certain side-by-side UTV's, the brake pedal brackets were not properly welded. As a result, the brake pedal could detach and cause a loss of brakes. Safety Risk: A loss of braking can increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Polaris will notify owners by mail to bring your UTV to a dealer to inspect the brake pedal brackets for incorrect welds. If incorrect welds are found, the brackets will be replaced. To reduce the safety risk, Polaris recommends that you should not drive your UTV until this recall is completed.

Issue: On certain side-by-side UTVs, the fuel pump flange could crack or the nozzle could separate. If this happens, there could be a fuel leak. Safety Risk: A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Polaris will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to install a protective cover over the fuel pump flange. To reduce the safety risk, Polaris recommends that you should avoid riding your UTV until the recall repairs have been completed.

On certain side-by-side UTV’s, the steering shaft may move along the power steering splines, and in some circumstances, the shaft may move far enough to separate from the splines. If the shaft were to separate from the splines during vehicle operation, it would result in a loss of steering control, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace and increase the torque of the fastener used to attach the steering shaft to the spline. Note: In the interim, owners are advised to stop riding their UTV until the recall repair has been performed.

On certain ATV's, the base model Owners’ and Service manuals were printed with incorrect tire pressure information, while on certain "Hunter" model variants, the compliance label affixed to the ATV contains incorrect tire pressure information. If an owner were to rely on the incorrect values and inflate the tires accordingly, it could affect vehicle handling and stability, which could result in loss of control, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Depending on the model, owners will either be mailed updated manuals or labels stating the correct tire pressure information.

On certain side-by-side UTV’s, the engine may misfire and cause unburned fuel to be routed into the exhaust system. This could result in excessive exhaust heat that may pose a fire hazard which could cause injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will update the ECU with software that includes misfire detection. Note: In the interim, owners are advised to not operate their vehicle until the defect has been repaired.

On certain side-by-side UTVs, the front brake circuit seal may be swollen due to an error in manufacturing. This could result in unintended brake drag, which could affect vehicle acceleration and cause undesired deceleration, produce excessive brake heat, and premature wear to brake components and could increase the risk of a fire causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will check the date code of the master cylinder, and if it falls within the suspect date range, dealers will inspect the master cylinder for contamination and will replace the brake master cylinder as necessary. Note: In the interim, owners are advised to not operate their vehicle until the defect has been repaired.
