Issue: On certain school buses, the exterior handle for the rear emergency door may not be strong enough. As a result, the handle could break and cause the emergency door not to be able to be opened from the outside. Safety Risk: A door that can't be opened could slow your exit from the bus in an emergency. This could also delay emergency responders from entering the bus. Both issues could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Micro Bird will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to replace the rear emergency door exterior handle.

Issue: On certain school buses, the power cable for the air conditioning control board may have a loose connection. As a result, the circuit board could overheat and melt. Safety risk: A circuit board that overheats could create the risk of a fire. Corrective actions: Micro Bird will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact a Micro Bird dealer to have your vehicle(s) repaired.

Issue: On certain school buses, the service door may not be adjusted correctly. As a result, the door panels may get stuck when the emergency release handle is used, or may not open when force is applied to the door. Additionally, the exterior emergency release handle may not allow the service door to be opened from outside of the bus. Safety Risk: A door that cannot be opened could delay exiting the bus in an emergency. This could also delay emergency response. Both of these issues could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Micro Bird will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your bus to a dealer to adjust the service door. Alternatively, Micro Bird will provide owners instructions on how to correctly adjust the service door.

Issue: On certain school buses, the 150-A breaker installed under the driver’s seat may be too large for the wiring connected to it. As a result, the wiring could overheat before the circuit breaker trips. Safety Risk: An electrical circuit that overheats could increase the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Micro Bird will notify owners by mail and provide them with a replacement circuit breaker that has a lower current rating, and the directions for installing it.

On certain school buses, the passenger shoulder belt anchorage plate(s) may not be attached correctly. In the event of a crash, the belt anchorage plate may become partially or totally detached, reducing the capacity of the shoulder belt to retain the passenger, resulting in an increased risk of injury or fatality. Correction: Dealers will inspect, and if necessary, re-install the shoulder belt anchorage plate using the correct procedure.

Certain school buses equipped with at least one three-place seat having lap seat belts may fail to conform to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 207 - Anchorage of Seats and CMVSS 210 – Seat Belt Anchorages. The seat or seat belt attachment assemblies could fail in the event of a crash, which could increase the risk of injury to the seat occupants. Correction: Dealers will modify the seat and/or seat belt anchoring points to meet the requirements of the standard.

Corp. Micro Bird, Inc. (Micro Bird) is recalling certain 2003-2026 MB II, 2006-2026 G5, and 2015-2026 T-Series school buses. An installation error may prevent the wheelchair tie-downs from locking, leaving the wheelchair improperly secured.
Risk: An unsecured wheelchair can move during transit or a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and secure the anchor screw cap as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 28, 2026. Owners can contact Micro Bird Customer Service at 819-477-2012. Micro Bird's number for this recall is 26-120-AUS.
