Issue: On certain school buses, the rod end fitting that attaches the door panels to the door opening gear could fail. If this happens, the door panel(s) could become loose and open unexpectedly. Note: This recall only affects school buses equipped with power-assisted doors. Safety Risk: A door that opens unexpectedly could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Micro Bird will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, repair the rod end fitting.

As a result, you may be able to start the engine even if the rear emergency door is locked. Safety Risk: A locked emergency door could delay passengers from leaving the bus in an emergency. This could create a risk of injury. Corrective Action: Micro Bird will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to repair the ignition interlock system.

Corrective Actions: Micro Bird will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to replace the rear emergency door exterior handle.

Safety Risk: A door that cannot be opened could delay exiting the bus in an emergency. This could also delay emergency response. Both of these issues could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Micro Bird will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your bus to a dealer to adjust the service door. Alternatively, Micro Bird will provide owners instructions on how to correctly adjust the service door.

As a result, the wiring could overheat before the circuit breaker trips. Safety Risk: An electrical circuit that overheats could increase the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Micro Bird will notify owners by mail and provide them with a replacement circuit breaker that has a lower current rating, and the directions for installing it.
