  • Steering#2016555

    54 units affected

On certain motorcycles, the steering damper bracket's mounting bolts may have been over torqued during assembly. This could cause the bolts to potentially break, which could result in the steering damper bracket to detach from the frame. If the bracket were to detach from the frame, it would affect steering control, which could result in a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the steering damper bracket mounting bolts. Note: In the interim, owners are advised to stop riding their motorcycles until the defect has been repaired.

  • Engine#2012267

    222 units affected

On certain motorcycles, a porous engine crankcase could allow oil to leak from the machined area at the starter mounting point and pool on top of the crankcase. The oil could then spill onto the rear tire, which may render the vehicle unstable. This could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will apply an epoxy sealer to the affected area of the engine crankcase.

  • Electrical#2011269

    119 units affected

On certain motorcycles, the main wiring harness can contact a bolt and a rivet located in the tail section of the vehicle. The resultant chafe damage could, over time, create an electrical short circuit, which may cause the engine to stall. Engine stalling would result in lost vehicle propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the rider's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, repair or replace, and reposition the main wiring harness.
