On certain motorcycles, a porous engine crankcase could allow oil to leak from the machined area at the starter mounting point and pool on top of the crankcase. The oil could then spill onto the rear tire, which may render the vehicle unstable. This could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will apply an epoxy sealer to the affected area of the engine crankcase.
