  Issue: On certain trucks, the cable connection at the battery auxiliary post could contact the hold-down bracket. If this happens, there could be a short circuit. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2025-428. Trucks that were repaired under that recall also require this repair. Safety Risk: A short circuit could increase the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to insulate the battery hold down bracket and install spacers between the batteries.

  Issue: On certain trucks, poor signal strength could cause the electronic control unit (ECU) to stop working or not to work properly. As a result, some safety systems may not work, including the antilock braking system, automatic traction control, electronic stability control, active cruise control and the collision mitigation system. Safety Risks: Vehicle safety systems that don't work correctly could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a dealership to reprogram the ECU software.

  Issue: On certain vehicles, the steering gear may not have been assembled correctly. As a result, the steering gear could break and cause a loss of steering. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Navistar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the serial number on the steering gear and, if necessary, replace it.

  Issue: On certain vehicles, the warning light for the antilock brake system (ABS) doesn't stay on when there's a problem with the system, and the vehicle is moving. Safety Risk: A driver that is not warned about a problem with the antilock brake system could have an increased risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Navistar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the brake system electronic control unit software.

  Issue: On certain trucks equipped with an automatic transmission, when the engine RPM increases for the stationary power take off (PTO), it can overcome the parking brake if the transmission is in drive or reverse gear. As a result, the truck may move suddenly. Safety Risk: Sudden and unexpected movement of the truck could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealership to update the engine control module (ECM) software to enable the PTO neutral interlock.

• SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:DISC:CALIPER#25V178000March 21, 2025

  International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2024 HV, 2020-2025 MV, and 2019 Workstar 7400 trucks. The caliper may contact a suspension spring or axle U-bolt and prevent the outer brake pad from functioning.

  Risk: A loss of outer brake pad function can extend the vehicle's stopping distance, increasing the risk of a crash.

  Remedy: Dealers will switch the left and right rear air disc brake calipers, replace the rear brake torque plates, and replace the brake pads, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 12, 2025. Owners may contact International customer service at 1-800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 25501.

• ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE#24V818000October 31, 2024

  International Motors, LLC (International) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Lonestar, 2021-2025 RH, HV, MV, LT, HX, and 2022 PROSTAR vehicles, equipped with Bendix EC80 Advanced Electronic Control Units (ECU). Electrical noise and low signal to the power line carrier may cause the ECU to incorrectly process commands or stop working.

  Risk: Safety systems that depend on the ECU (Automatic Traction Control, ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Active Cruise Control, and Collison Mitigation System) may have diminished or lost functionality, increasing the risk of a crash.

  Remedy: International will work with Bendix to reprogram the ECU software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 16, 2024. Owners may contact International customer service at 1-800-448-7825. International's number for this recall is 24515.

• STEERING#24V088000February 8, 2024

  Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2024 International HX, LT, RH and 2024-2025 International HV, MV trucks and 2024 IC Bus CE commercial buses. The steering gear assemblies may have been assembled incorrectly with fewer recirculating balls than are required, which may result in a loss of steering control.

  Risk: A loss of steering control increases the risk of a crash.

  Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the defective gears, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 30, 2024. Owners may contact Navistar's customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 24503.

• SEAT BELTS:CRITICAL FASTENERS#24V026000January 18, 2024

  Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2024 International HV and International MV trucks. The driver's seat belt tether bolt may not be properly seated in the anchor, causing a bind at the anchor point.

  Risk: An improperly anchored seat belt tether may not restrain an occupant as intended, increasing their risk of injury during a crash.

  Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the seat belts as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 26, 2024. Owners may contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 24501.

• SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:ANTILOCK:ABS WARNING LIGHT#23V370000May 25, 2023

  Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2021-2024 International HV, HX, LoneStar, LT, MV, eMV, and RH trucks, and IC Bus CE, 2021-2023 IC Bus RE, and 2022-2023 IC Bus TC Commercial Buses. The anti-lock brake system (ABS) indicator light does not remain illuminated when a malfunction exists, and when the vehicle's ignition switch is on, and the vehicle is in motion. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

  Risk: An ABS indicator light that fails to remain illuminated will not alert the driver of an ABS malfunction, which could increase the risk of a crash.

  Remedy: Towing variant vehicles under this campaign will not be repaired under recall 24V-8918. Dealers will update the software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 24, 2023. Owners may contact Navistar's customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar's number for this recall is 23515.

• ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECU/ECM):SOFTWARE#23V120000February 23, 2023

  Navistar, Inc. (Navistar) is recalling certain 2022-2024 International HV, International MV trucks, and 2022-2023 IC Bus TC commercial buses. When the parking brake is applied, the automatic transmission is still in drive or reverse position, and the stationary power take-off (PTO) switch is engaged by the operator, the engine may rev and overcome the parking brake's ability to keep the vehicle from moving.

  Risk: Unexpected vehicle movement can increase the risk of a crash or injury.

  Remedy: Dealers will update the Cummins ECM software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 24, 2023.
