    Issue: On certain school buses, the entrance door and driver's window body panels may not have been attached correctly. As a result, the bus may not meet the joint strength requirements of Canadian regulations, and the panels could separate in a crash. Safety Risk: A body joint that separates in a crash could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, add rivets to the affected joints.

    Issue: On certain school buses, the body panels on the side emergency door(s) may not have been attached correctly. As a result, the bus may not meet the joint strength requirements of Canadian regulations, and the panels could separate in a crash. Note: This recall only affects certain school buses equipped with either a left or a right-side emergency door. Safety Risk: A body joint that separates in a crash could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, add screws to the interior joints.

    Issue: On certain school buses, the brake lines may not be secured correctly. As a result, the brake lines could become damaged by contact with the steering shaft. This could lead to a brake fluid leak and cause reduced braking. Safety Risk: Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to replace the brake line retainer. The dealer will also inspect the brake lines for damage and replace them, if necessary.

    Issue: On certain school buses, the wheelchair tie-down retractors may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the retractor(s) may not lock automatically. If this happens, the wheelchair may not be secured correctly and could move in a crash. Safety Risk: A wheelchair that moves in a crash could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, International Motors recommends you confirm the wheelchair is secured properly by attempting to move it before driving until the recall repairs have been completed. International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the wheelchair retractor(s).

    Issue: On a small number of school buses, the compliance label lists the wrong gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR). This could lead to overloading of the school bus and cause poor handling or a tire failure. Safety Risk: Poor handling or a tire failure could cause a loss of control and result in a crash. Corrective Actions: International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to inspect and modify the front and/or rear suspension, as necessary.

    Issue: On certain school buses, the transmission shift actuator may not have been calibrated properly. As a result, you may not be able to shift the transmission into the reverse ("R") position. Safety Risk: A transmission that can't be shifted into reverse could increase the risk of an injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to replace the transmission shift actuator.

    Issue: On certain school buses, the air dryer discharge line could become damaged by contact with the passenger-side tire when making a full right turn. If this happens, the parking brake could apply suddenly while driving. Note: This recall only affects certain school buses equipped with air brakes. Safety Risk: A parking brake that self-applies while driving could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to reroute and secure the air line. If damage is found, the dealer will replace those sections.

    Issue: On certain school buses, the windshield wiper module may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the left-side (driver-side) windshield wiper arm may not work. Safety Risk: Windshield wipers that don't work could reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the windshield wiper module.

    Issue: On certain school buses, the parking brake tension spring could become corroded and break. If this happens, the parking brake may not work and the vehicle could roll away when it's parked. Safety Risk: A parked vehicle that rolls away could create the risk of an injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to replace the forward parking brake cable and adjust the parking brake.

    Issue: On certain school buses, the driver's seat could interfere with the seat belt buckle. As a result, the seat belt anchor bolt could become loose and cause the seat belt to loosen or detach. Safety Risk: A seat belt that detaches could create an increased risk of injury. Corrective Actions: International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to install spacers on the seat belt anchor bolt.

  • Lights And Instruments#2025145

    Issue: On certain school buses, the low beam headlamps could turn off when the high beam headlamps are turned on. As a result, the vehicles may not meet certain requirements of Canadian regulations. Safety Risk: Headlamps that don't work properly can reduce visibility and could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to update the body control module.
