Issue: Certain buses were built with headlamps that may not meet the performance requirements of Canadian regulations. As a result, the headlamp beam pattern may be too bright in some areas and not be bright enough in others. Safety Risk: Headlamps that are too bright could cause glare for oncoming drivers. Headlamps that are not bright enough may reduce visibility. Both of these issues could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Volvo Buses will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.

Issue: On certain buses, the C1 drive hub in the transmission may fail. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the drive wheels when the bus comes to a stop. This can disable the bus and make it unable to move under its own power. Note: This recall only affects certain buses built with an Allison B500 transmission. Safety Risk: A bus that is disabled could create the need for a transfer of passengers in an uncontrolled environment, which may create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Volvo will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a Volvo service center to update the Transmission Control Module software.

This could cause the fire extinguisher not to discharge when it is activated. Safety Risk: In a fire, an extinguisher that does not work could increase the risk of injury and/or property damage. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to contact Prevost, who will inspect extinguishers and repair as necessary.

This could result in resistant heating potentially occurring, and could cause the cable and fuse box to overheat, which could increase the risk of a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect for any damage to the fuse box and repaired as necessary. The nuts attaching the cable to the post will also be replaced and tightened to specification.
