Safety Risk: A coolant leak could create a hazard for other road users. Additionally, an engine that overheats could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Action: Volkswagen will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to ensure that the radiator is attached correctly. If it is loose, the coolant hose and serpentine belt will also be checked for damage, and replaced if necessary.
