Issue: A small number of vacuum excavator trailers are missing the tire placard. As a result, information such as tire size, rim size and tire inflation pressure may not be easily accessible. This could lead you to inflate the tires incorrectly or install the wrong wheels and tires. These errors could lead to poor handling or a tire failure. Safety Risk: Poor handling or a tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will mail tire placards to each owner. If you would like help to install the placard, you can contact a Vermeer dealership to have it installed.

Issue: Certain vacuum excavator trailers may be missing various marker lamps, clearance lamps, reflectors, and reflective tape. Additionally, the reflective tape on the sides of the trailer may not be long enough. Canadian regulations require trailers to have these lamps and reflectors. Safety Risk: A trailer with missing lamps and/or reflectors is less visible to others and could create an increased risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and supply the necessary parts and instructions. Owners will be instructed to take their trailer to a dealer to add brackets relocate the lamps. Dealers will also add the required reflective tape and reflectors.

Issue: Certain dual-axle trailers may become unstable and sway when fully loaded and travelling at speeds over 64 km/h (40 mph). Safety Risk: A trailer that is unstable and sways could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their trailer to a dealer to move both axles 38 cm (15") rearward to improve stability.
