Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 7-inch display. Safety Risk: Turn signals that don't work may cause a person not to recognize when the driver intends to turn or change lanes and could increase the risk of a crash. Warnings, tell-tales and gauges that don't display could also increase the risk of a crash. A seat belt warning that doesn't work may not remind you to buckle your seat belt. Not wearing your seat belt can increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Toyota will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the combination meter software.

If this happens, the rearview image may not display when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the vehicle is reversing. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with a panoramic view monitor system. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display correctly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the parking assist ECU software.

Alternatively, certain eligible vehicles will be sent a wireless over-the-air software update, which you can install yourself. For certain vehicles, the dealer will also inspect and, if necessary, replace the combination meter.

Safety Risk: An airbag that is turned off could increase the risk of injury to a passenger in a crash. For some vehicles, the corrective actions for this recall are under development. For others, a new engine block heater cannot be installed, and the owner will receive a refund of the purchase price of the engine block heater.

  On certain vehicles, the electrical power cords of some dealer installed block heaters may have been improperly manufactured, causing the wires to contact each other, resulting in a short circuit. A short circuit could lead to a fire which would increase the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: For vehicles where the subject block heater was approved for installation, the dealer will replace the block heater assembly with a new one of an improved design. For vehicles where the subject block heater was not approved for installation, dealers will remove the block heater assembly. In the interim, until the remedy can be performed, dealers will cut the plug end from the block heater cord to disable the block heater's operation.

  On certain vehicles, incorrect fasteners (tapping screws) that attach the front passenger knee air bag module to the lower instrument panel may have been installed during vehicle assembly. This could damage the knee air bag module mounting holes and result in the fasteners loosening over time. A loosened fastener could affect the performance of the knee air bag in a crash (where deployment is warranted), and could increase the risk of injury to the seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will inspect and confirm that the correct fasteners were used. If not, the dealer will remove the air bag assembly, replace the instrument panel brace and body bracket, and reinstall the air bag with correct fasteners.

This could result in the non-deployment of the front passenger air bag and the front passenger knee airbag, which would increase the risk of injury to the seat occupant in a crash where airbag deployment is warranted. Correction: Dealers will re-calibrate the occupant classification system.

A loss of steering power assist could ultimately result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace inspect the electric power steering electronic control unit and, if affected, replace the electronic control unit with a new one.

Correction: Dealers will inspect and replace the brake tube.

Correction: Dealers will reconfigure the shape of the accelerator pedal. Certain models will also have the shape of the floor underneath the accelerator pedal modified and/or a brake override system installed.
