On certain motorhomes equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. On certain motorhomes equipped with Lippert Components Inc. electric entry steps, an internal bolt on the steps that attaches the fan gear assembly to the steps could fracture. This results in the fan gear disengaging from the steps, which could cause the steps to stop in an unexpected position and appear to be loose or unstable. If the steps become unstable, it could cause a person to fall, resulting in injury. Correction: Dealers will install a step retainer bracket to reinforce the operating mechanism, and all bolts of the mechanism will also be replaced.

Two circuits are potentially affected. One circuit disengages the cruise control with brake pedal application, and the other circuit illuminates the brake lights with brake application. Failure of the cruise control to disengage, or of the brake lights to illuminate when the brake pedal is depressed, could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will verify that the locking tabs on the diode jumper assembly connector are fully engaged and locked into place.

If the indicator cable is cut, the indicator will remain in the "1" position (first gear) regardless of what gear is actually selected. With no gear indication, the operator may inadvertently select an incorrect gear, increasing the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Ford dealers will replace the transmission selector arm and indicator assembly.

Correction: Owners are advised to contact Spartan Motor Chassis, Inc. at 800-393-8861, to locate an authorized repair facility. The remedy consists of replacing the cruise control switch and reprogramming the control module.

If the drive pin becomes disengaged from the brake pedal assembly it could result in a loss of vehicle braking function and/or cause the brake pedal to interfere with the throttle pedal. Either condition could result in a vehicle crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will install a secondary pin retention system.

Tiffin Motorhomes, Inc. (Tiffin) is recalling certain model year 2007-2011 Allegro, Allegro Bus, Phaeton, and Zephyr motorhomes, 2007-2010 Allegro Bay motorhomes, and 2010-2011 Allegro Breeze motorhomes. The windshield wiper arms on the affected vehicles may break off.
Risk: If the windshield wiper arms break, the driver's visibility may be reduced, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Tiffin will notify owners, and dealers will replace the wiper blade arms, free of charge. The recall began on August 19, 2016. Owners may contact Tiffin customer service at 1-256-356-8661. Tiffin's number for this recall is TIFF-100.

Tiffin Motorhomes is recalling certain model year 2010-2013 Allegro Bus motorcoaches, manufactured from March 2010, through September 2012 and equipped with a Cummins EPA 2010 ISL engine. Insufficient shielding between the exhaust pipe and floor may cause possible overheating of the floor above the engine compartment.
Risk: If the exhaust pipe in the engine compartment were to fail, the escaping exhaust gases could make the floor area above the engine extremely hot, increasing the risk of personal injury or possibly resulting in a fire.
Remedy: Tiffin Motorhomes will notify owners, and dealers will install a heat shield, free of charge. The safety recall began on November 14, 2012. Owners may contact Tiffin at 1-256-356-8661.

TIFFIN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2008 THROUGH 2010 ALLEGRO BUS MODELS WITH POWERGLIDE CHASSIS EQUIPPED WITH PNEUMATIC AND HYDRAULIC ADJUSTABLE BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLIES P/NOS. 6562618, 6565118, 77025-001, 77025-002, 77025-501, 77050-004, SUPPLIED BY KONGSBERG AUTOMOTIVE. SOME ASSEMBLIES COULD CONTAIN A DRIVE PIN THAT IS BELOW SPECIFICATION AND MAY BECOME DISENGAGED FROM THE BRAKE ARM CAUSING SEPARATION OR LOOSENING OF THE PEDAL FROM THE REMAINDER OF THE ASSEMBLY.
Risk: IF THE DRIVE PIN BECOMES DISENGAGED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY, IT COULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF VEHICLE BRAKING FUNCTION AND/OR CAUSE THE BRAKE PEDAL TO INTERFERE WITH THE THROTTLE PEDAL FUNCTION. EITHER CONDITION COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
Remedy: TIFFIN IS WORKING WITH KONGSBERG TO REMEDY THESE MOTORHOMES. PLEASE SEE KONGSBERG'S DEFECT REPORT 09E-064. KONGSBERG WILL SUPPLY KITS TO TIFFIN. THE REMEDY WILL BE PERFORMED BY TIFFIN FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON JANUARY 19, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT TIFFIN AT 1-256-356-8661.
