On certain vehicles equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. As a result, the vehicle could be overloaded, which would result in poor vehicle handling characteristics, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Manufacturer will mail out new labels containing the correct information.

On certain travel trailers, the certification tire and loading information labels do not contain correct tire load ranges, dimensions and tire pressure information. The labels incorrectly indicate a tire size of ST225/75R15, load range "D" with 65 PSI, while the correct tire size is ST225/75R16, load range "E" with 80 PSI. As a result, the tires may inadvertently be overinflated and the trailer may be fitted with incorrect replacement tires. Overinflated tires may lead to poor vehicle handling characteristics and increase the risk of tire failure, which could result in a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Starcraft will send corrected labels to current owners with instructions for proper placement. If owners are not comfortable installing the label themselves, they can take the label to a Starcraft dealer for installation.

Incorrect labels may create a possibility of electrical shock hazard when working on the travel trailer, which could result in injury. Correction: Labels will be sent to current owners instructing them to replace the incorrect label on the breaker box and 12 volt fuse panel.

Certain travel trailers may have been equipped with tires having an insufficient load range. Trailers in question were equipped with ST175/80R13C tires instead of ST175/80R13D. This could result in the tires being overloaded, which could lead to tire failure and result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace tires.

On certain travel trailers, the spare tire carrier bracket may fatigue and fail. This could allow the spare tire and carrier to separate from the vehicle. Should this occur while the vehicle is underway, the spare tire assembly could strike another vehicle, stationary object, or bystander, causing property damage and/personal injury. Correction: Dealers will install a reinforcement bracket to the spare tire carrier.

On certain travel trailers, the bolts attaching the leveling jacks to the trailer frame may be cracked. If all bolts fail while the vehicle is in motion, the jack(s) could separate from the trailer and strike another vehicle, a stationary object, or a bystander, causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the leveling jack bolts with more robust fasteners.
