  Issue: On certain fire trucks, a problem inside the door latch assemblies could cause the doors to become stuck. If this happens, the doors may not be able to be opened. Safety Risk: Doors that can't be opened could slow your exit from the vehicle and/or delay emergency responders from entering the vehicle. This could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Spartan Fire will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to an authorized service facility to inspect and, if necessary, replace the door latch assemblies.

  Issue: On a small number of fire trucks equipped with a Weldon vehicle multiplex system, a software problem could cause the power distribution unit not to shut off if there is a short circuit or a wiring problem. As a result, the unit and/or wiring could overheat and melt. Safety Risk: A power distribution unit and/or wiring that overheats and melts could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Spartan Fire will notify owners by mail and advise you to contact Weldon to update the Weldon power distribution unit software.

If this happens, the vehicle could move unexpectedly. This issue also causes the vehicle not to meet the requirements of the Canadian regulations. Safety Risk: A delay before the parking brake applies could result in unintended vehicle movement, and create the risk of an injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: Spartan Fire will notify the owners by mail and arrange for an inspection of the inversion valve. If the valve is not certified, it will be replaced.

  Issue: On certain fire trucks, the retaining clips (keepers) may not have been installed correctly on the steer axle nuts. As a result, an axle nut could loosen and a wheel end could separate from the truck. Safety Risk: A wheel separation could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. A wheel that separates could also hit another person or vehicle. Corrective Actions: Spartan Fire will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to an authorized service facility to inspect the steer axle nut retaining clips, and replace them if necessary.

Corrective Actions: Spartan Fire will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to an Allison Transmission service center to reprogram the TCM.

Corrective Actions: Cummins will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your fire truck to a Cummins authorized service center to replace the fuel tubes for cylinders 4, 5 and 6 and install vibration isolators.

Safety Risk: A parking brake that self-applies while driving could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, if a following driver does not recognize when a vehicle ahead is braking, there could also be an increased risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Spartan will notify owners by mail and instruct you to contact a dealership or repair facility, who must contact Meritor's Technical Call Center to verify if the truck is affected by this campaign. The differential carrier assembly will be replaced, if necessary.

If damage is found, the fuel rail and fuel lines will be replaced. If no damage is found, the fuel rail will be reassembled with new crush washers using a special tool.

Safety Risk: Emergency personnel that do not have immediate access to vehicle controls could create a delay in emergency response. Additionally, a rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.
