  Issue: On certain fire trucks, a problem with the gauge cluster could cause the odometer reading to freeze or to display incorrect information. This error could lead you not to know how far the truck has travelled. As a result, an owner could miss or delay important vehicle maintenance. Safety Risk: Missed or delayed vehicle maintenance could lead to a part failure and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Rosenbauer will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the gauge cluster.

  Issue: On certain fire trucks equipped with a Weldon vehicle multiplex system, a software problem could cause the power distribution unit not to shut off if there is a short circuit or a wiring problem. As a result, the unit and/or wiring could overheat and melt. Safety Risk: A power distribution unit and/or wiring that overheats and melts could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Rosenbauer will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the Weldon power distribution unit software.

  Issue: On certain fire trucks, there may be a defect in the rear axle drive pinion that could cause it to break. If this happens, the air brake line could be damaged and cause the parking brakes to apply suddenly. Note: This recall only affects emergency vehicles equipped with certain 180-series Meritor axles. Safety Risk: A parking brake that self-applies while driving could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, if a following driver does not recognize when a vehicle ahead is braking, there could also be an increased risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Rosenbauer will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development.

  Issue: On certain fire trucks, the fuel tubes between the fuel rail and the injectors may crack and create a fuel leak. Note: This recall only affects fire trucks equipped with a Cummins X12 diesel engine. Safety Risk: A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Rosenbauer will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your fire truck to a Cummins authorized service center to replace the fuel tubes for cylinders 4, 5 and 6 and install vibration isolators.

  Issue: On a small number of fire trucks, the generator lifting cables could fail. If this happens, the generator could fall during installation or removal. Safety Risk: A generator that falls could create the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Rosenbauer will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your fire truck to a Cummins authorized service center to inspect the generator lifting cables. They will be repaired or replaced, as necessary.

  Issue: On certain fire trucks, the compliance label may not list the correct tire inflation pressures. This could lead you to underinflate the tires. Driving a vehicle with underinflated tires could cause poor handling and/or a tire failure. Safety Risk: Tires that are not properly inflated could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Rosenbauer will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to verify that the compliance label has the correct tire inflation pressures. They will replace it with a corrected label, if required.

  Issue: On certain vehicles, the fuel rail assembly could develop a leak. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a Cummins L9 or ISX12 diesel engine. Safety Risk: A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Cummins will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a Cummins authorized service center to inspect the fuel rail. If damage is found, the fuel rail and fuel lines will be replaced. If no damage is found, the fuel rail will be reassembled with new crush washers using a special tool.

  Issue: On a small number of fire trucks, the tail lights may be too bright. This could make it difficult for a following driver to tell when the brake lights turn on. Canadian regulations specify a maximum brightness for tail lights. Safety Risk: If a following driver does not recognize when a vehicle ahead is braking, there could be an increased risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Rosenbauer will notify owners by mail and provide you with a replacement filter kit and directions for installing it.

  On certain fire trucks, the ball joints of the Independent Front Suspension (IFS) module may not have been assembled properly during the manufacturing process causing them to loosen over time. Loose ball joints could separate from their mating component which could result in a partial loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the central steering system ball joints and tighten if necessary.

  Certain fire trucks may fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 207 – Anchorage of Seats. The Battalion air ride seats may be missing tethers that attach the seat to the cab. If this condition were present, the seat could fail to meet the requirements of the standard, which could increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash. Correction: Dealers will install two seat belt tethers for each driver and/or passenger seat.
