7 units affected
Issue: On a small number of buses, the wrong glass for the entrance door window may have been installed. As a result, the glass may not meet certain requirements of Canadian regulations. Note: This recall only affects certain buses that are not equipped with optional perimeter lighting. Safety Risk: Incorrect glass may cause reduced visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Prevost will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your bus to a Prevost service center to replace the entrance door window.
- Engine#2022191
1,219 units affected
Issue: On certain vehicles, if the front bearing on the alternator fails, the alternator belts could continue to turn the alternator. This could cause the alternator bearing to overheat. Safety Risk: An overheated alternator bearing could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Prevost will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a Prevost service center to replace the alternator belts. To reduce the safety risk, Prevost recommends that you should inspect the front bearing on the alternator regularly, and not operate the engine with a defective alternator.
- Lights And Instruments#2019544
39 units affected
Issue: On certain buses, the brightness of the lights for the dashboard controls and indicators cannot be adjusted. Canadian regulations require an adjustment for the brightness of these lights. Safety Risk: During nighttime operation, if the lights for the controls and indicators are too bright, a driver’s vision could be affected. This could create an increased risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Prevost will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a Prevost service center to install a controller for adjusting the brightness of the lights for the controls and indicators.
- Engine#2019380
160 units affected
Issue: Under certain high-altitude and heavy load conditions, the engine could overheat. This could cause the engine to lose power or fail. Safety Risk: A loss of engine power or an engine failure could increase the risk of a crash. If the bus is disabled, the transfer of passengers to another bus in an uncontrolled environment could also create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Prevost will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a Prevost or Volvo service center to update the engine software.
