    Issue: On certain transit buses, the plastic glazing panel on the interior door separating the driver from the passengers may not have the required marking. As a result, the missing information could lead you to install the wrong panel. Canadian regulations require a marking to identify the type of glazing panel used. Safety Risk: An incorrect panel could reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Nova Bus will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to replace the plastic glazing panel with one that has the correct markings.

    Issue: On certain buses, the passenger window(s) may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the glass could loosen and detach from the window frame(s). Safety Risk: A glass panel that detaches from the bus could create a hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Nova Bus will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to inspect and, if necessary, replace the windows(s).

    Issue: On certain transit buses, the driver's seat belt tension-relieving device may not have been installed properly. As a result, the seat belt may not work properly in a crash, and the buses may not meet certain requirements of Canadian regulations. Safety Risk: A seat belt that doesn't work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Nova Bus recommends not to use the seat belt tension-relieving device until the recall repairs have been completed. Nova Bus will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to remove the seat belt tension-relieving device.

Safety Risk: A protection barrier door that falls could create the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Nova Bus will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to adjust the upper pivot shaft for the driver protection barrier.

    Issue: On certain transit buses, the recall repairs completed during Transport Canada recall no. 2025-539 may not be effective. As a result, a second inspection and/or repair is required. This recall is for coolant pumps installed on certain transit buses or sold as a replacement part. On certain transit buses, the cooling pumps for the electrical and/or mechanical cooling packages could fail and cause a loss of power to the wheels. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2025-539. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. A bus that is disabled could result in a transfer of passengers in an uncontrolled environment, which may create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Nova Bus will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to inspect and, if necessary, replace the cooling pump(s).

Corrective Actions: Nova Bus will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to repair the emergency exit window latch.

    Issue: This recall is for plastic diesel fuel tanks on certain transit buses or sold as a replacement part. On certain transit buses, the plastic diesel tank may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the tank could crack and leak diesel fuel. Safety Risk: A diesel fuel leak could create a hazard for others by making the road slippery. This could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Nova Bus will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to replace the diesel fuel tank.

As a result, you may not be able to see certain information about the bus, including the speedometer, certain warning lights and malfunction tell-tales. This problem could also cause a loss of power to the wheels. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2024-500. Buses that were repaired under that recall don't require this repair. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a speedometer, warnings lights and tell-tales that don't work properly could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Nova Bus will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to update the instrument cluster software.

U.S. NHTSA recalls

  • VISIBILITY:GLASS, SIDE/REAR:CRITICAL FASTENERS#26V206000

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2025 LFS and 2024 LFS Artic transit buses. Inadequate adhesion around the window frame may cause the glass to detach. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."

    Risk: The glass can fall out of the frame, increasing the risk of ejection and injury during a crash. Detached window glass can also become a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.

    Remedy: Nova Bus will inspect and replace the glass as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed May 29, 2026. Owners will receive another notice once remedy becomes available. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-450-472-6410. Nova Bus' number for this recall is CR5877. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning September 25, 2026.

  • ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:PUMP#25V822000

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2021 and 2024-2025 LFS transit buses. The impeller shaft may be loose, causing the cooling pump to fail.

    Risk: A cooling pump failure can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

    Remedy: Nova Bus will inspect and replace the pump as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 3, 2026.Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-450-472-6410. Nova Bus' number for this recall is CR5803. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning January 27, 2026.

  • SEAT BELTS:FRONT:ANCHORAGE#25V773000

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2024-2025 LFS transit buses. The driver's seat belt may be pinched by the partition, preventing seat belt from retract properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."

    Risk: A loose seat belt may not adequately restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

    Remedy: Nova Bus will adjust the seat base plate, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 12, 2025. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-450-472-6410. Nova Bus' number for this recall is CR5818. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning January 9, 2026.
