Nova Bus advises that if the seat belt is loose after it's buckled, the driver should readjust the seat to eliminate any interference with the seat belt.

For certain buses, Nova Bus will advise you to contact an authorized Allison Transmission service center to tighten the output shaft yoke bolt. For the other buses, Nova Bus will provide you with instructions for how to tighten the output shaft yoke bolt.

Nova Bus recommends an inspection for debris accumulation in the fuse holder area and cleaning as required. Also, Nova Bus recommends that you should inspect the fuse holder for heat damage (melting) before driving and to shut off the manual power disconnect switch when the vehicle is parked.

This may include limiting the recline angle of the of the seat back or adding a spacer on the driver's rear partition. Nova Bus advises that if the seat belt is loose after it's buckled, the driver should readjust the seat to eliminate any interference with the seat belt.

  • ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM#26V573000

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2023-2024 LFS Artic and 2022-2024 LFS buses. The coolant sensor could send a false signal, causing the engine to shut down.

    Risk: An unexpected engine shut down can increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, transferring passengers from the disabled bus can increase the risk of injury.

    Remedy: Nova Bus will inspect and replace the coolant sensor as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 2, 2026. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-800-350-6682. Nova Bus's number for this recall is CR5936. This recall supersedes Recall 24V873. Vehicles repaired under the previous recall will need the new repair completed.

  • SERVICE BRAKES, AIR:SUPPLY:LOW PRESSURE WARNING:SWITCH#26V355000

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 1997-2002, 2005-2024 LFS, 2009-2014, and 2016 - 2024 LFS Artic transit buses. The low brake air pressure warning light may fail to illuminate when the engine is off. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

    Risk: A low brake air pressure warning light that fails to illuminate when the engine is off will not alert the driver to a low brake pressure condition, increasing the risk of a crash if the parking brake is disengaged before starting the engine.

    Remedy: Nova Bus will update the firmware, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed by July 17, 2026. Owners will receive another notice once remedy becomes available. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-450-472-6410. Nova Bus' number for this recall is CR5918.   • STRUCTURE:INTERIOR PANELS:DOOR#26V300000

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2019-2020 LFS Artic and 2019-2023 LFS transit buses. The driver's speaker hole door may have been built with the prime glazing manufacturer DOT code mark missing. As such, these vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 205, "Glazing Materials."

    Risk: A missing DOT code mark may result in the door being replaced with the incorrect type of plastic, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.

    Remedy: Nova Bus will replace the plastic panel door, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed by July 7, 2026. Owners will receive another notice once remedy becomes available. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-450-472-6410. Nova Bus' number for this recall is CR5884.   • ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:PROPULSION SYSTEM:HYBRID MANAGEMENT:POWER CONTROL UNIT/MODULE (HPCU)#26V275000

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2022-2023 LFS transit buses. The telemetry control unit installed in parallel with the vehicle monitoring system may cause a data overload.

    Risk: An overloaded control unit may shutdown, causing a loss of drive power and increasing the risk of a crash.

    Remedy: Nova Bus will modify the connection configuration, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 29, 2026. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-450-472-6410. Nova Bus' number for this recall is CR5882.   • SEAT BELTS:FRONT#26V182000

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2016-2018, 2020, 2022-2023 LFS and 2019-2020 LFS Artic transit buses. The driver's seat belt tension-reliving device may fail to disengage without manual intervention. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

    Risk: Failure of the tension-reliving device may prevent the seat belt from properly restraining the driver, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

    Remedy: Nova Bus will remove the seat belt tension-reliving device, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 22, 2026. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-450-472-6410. Nova Bus' number for this recall is CR5873.   • STEERING:ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM#25V476000

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2020-2023 LFS transit buses. The electric power steering system may be missing a check valve, allowing hydraulic pressure to turn the steering wheel without the driver's input.

    Risk: A steering wheel that turns unintentionally increases the risk of a crash or injury.

    Remedy: Nova Bus will install a check valve, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 11, 2025. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-450-472-6410. Nova Bus' number for this recall is CR5746.

  • EXTERIOR LIGHTING:TURN SIGNAL#25V368000

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2022-2023 LFS buses. A digital display firmware error may cause the instrument panel indicator lights to remain solidly illuminated even when the turn signal are off. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

    Risk: A faulty indictor light, that cannot provide the driver with information about the status of the turn signals, increases the risk of a crash.

    Remedy: Nova Bus will update the digital display firmware, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 7, 2025. Nova Bus's number for this recall is CR5732.

  • ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING#25V213000

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2022-2023 LFS transit buses. The engine wiring harness may be the incorrect length, which can result in harness damage and a loss of drive power.

    Risk: A loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash.

    Remedy: Nova Bus will install a wire extension kit, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed February 3, 2026. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-450-472-6410. Nova Bus's number for this recall is CR5719.

  • ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:PROPULSION SYSTEM:TRACTION BATTERY#25V184000

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Nova Bus LFS transit buses. The high voltage batteries may have loose hardware that can fall inside the battery pack and create a short circuit.

    Risk: A short circuit increases the risk of a fire.

    Remedy: Nova Bus will replace the batteries, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 5, 2025. A second letter will be sent once the remedy is available. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 800-350-6682. Nova Bus's number for this recall is CR5687.

  • EQUIPMENT ADAPTIVE/MOBILITY:WHEELCHAIR RESTRAINTS/SECUREMENT:CRITICAL FASTENERS#24V907000

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2022-2024 LFS buses. The wheelchair securement system may have been installed with the attachment points in the incorrect locations.

    Risk: Incorrectly located attachment points may prevent the securement system from adequately restraining the occupant, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

    Remedy: Nova Bus will reinstall securement system, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 28, 2025. Owners may contact Nova Bus at 1-866-870-2046. Nova Bus's number for this recall is CR5674.

    Risk: An unexpected engine shut down can increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, transferring passengers from the disabled bus can increase the risk of injury.

    Remedy: Nova Bus will inspect and replace the coolant sensor as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 20, 2025. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-800-350-6682. Nova Bus's number for this recall is CR5668.

  • SEAT BELTS:FRONT#24V647000

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova) is recalling certain 2010-2020 LFS Artic and 2012-2024 LFS vehicles. The driver's seat belt may not retract properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."

    Risk: A seat belt that does not retract properly may result in a loose seat belt, which can increase the risk of injury in a crash.

    Remedy: Nova Bus will install additional seat stoppers to the driver's rear partition, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 4, 2025. Nova's number for this recall is CR5635. This recall expands and replaces previous recall number 23V-350. Vehicles that were previously recalled under 23V-350 will need to have the new remedy completed.

  • ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:PROPULSION SYSTEM:TRACTION MOTOR:CONTROLLER#24V727000

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2022-2023 LFS buses. A software error may cause the Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) to crash, disconnecting the high voltage batteries and causing a loss of drive power.

    Risk: A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

  • VISIBILITY:DEFROSTER/DEFOGGER/HVAC SYSTEM:WINDSHIELD:ELECTRICAL HEATING ELEMENT#24V657000

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2019-2024 LFS and 2019-2023 LFS Artic buses. The auxiliary heater module may allow contaminants to enter the electronic controller, which can cause an electrical short. Additionally, the auxiliary heater may fail, causing the defrosting system to not function properly.

    Risk: An electrical short circuit can increase the risk of a fire. Additionally, a windshield defrosting system that does not function properly can decrease the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova) is recalling certain 2023 LFS Artic and 2023-2024 LFS vehicles. The instrument panel may fail to display the speedometer or incorrectly display warning lights, due to defective firmware. In addition, the firmware may result in a loss of drive power.  As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 101, "Control and Displays."

    Risk: An instrument panel that fails to show critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, can increase the risk of a crash. A loss of drive power also increases the risk of a crash.

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2019-2023 LFS and 2019-2020 LFS Arctic buses. The glazing used on the glass windows may reduce the driver's visibility. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 205, "Glazing Materials."

    Risk: Reduced visibility while driving can increase the risk of a crash.

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2022-2023 LFS buses. The windshield wiper arms may be incorrectly aligned, which can cause the wiper blades to collide.

    Risk: Damaged wiper blades can reduce visibility in certain weather conditions, increasing the risk of a crash.

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2022-2023 LFS buses. The ground connection on the bus bar in the HVAC roof unit may not be secured properly, which can result in an unexpected engine shutdown or an overheated ground connection.

    Risk: An unexpected engine shutdown increases the risk of a crash. An overheated ground connection can increase the risk of a fire.

    Risk: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. Additionally, a lack of fuel can cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

    Risk: A detached sun visor can distract the driver or obstruct the view through the windshield, increasing the risk of a crash.

    Risk: Inoperative turn signals may not notify other drivers of a turning vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2020-2023 LFS and LFS Artic transit buses. The brackets retaining the Mobile Climate Control HVAC Unit could fail and allow the unit to detach from the bus.

    Risk: An HVAC unit that detaches from a bus can create a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

  • ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING:FUSES AND CIRCUIT BREAKERS#23V607000

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova) is recalling certain 2017-2023 LFS and 2017-2022 LFS Artic transit buses. The 24-volt power cable and grounded mounting fastener that secures the fuse holder may short circuit.

    Risk: An electrical short circuit can overheat the fuse holder and increase the risk of a fire while driving or parked.

    Remedy: Nova will insect, remove, and clean the fuse holder and cable lugs as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed November 7, 2023.     Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova) is recalling certain 2022-2023 LFS battery electric transit buses. The rivnut threaded inserts inside the high-voltage battery may be over-tightened and break, which could result in a short circuit.

    Risk: An electrical short circuit increases the risk of a fire.

  • POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE:DRIVESHAFT#23V482000

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova) is recalling certain 2019-2023 LFS and LFS Artic transit buses. The transmission yoke may separate, resulting in driveshaft separation and a sudden loss of drive power.

    Risk: A sudden loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a disabled bus may require an evacuation procedure in an uncontrolled traffic situation, increasing the risk of injury to passengers.

    Remedy: Dealers will inspect the output yoke bolts, and if necessary, tighten loose output yoke bolts, free of charge. Phase 1 will include 2019-2023 LFS vehicles. Nova notified dealers on 10/03/2024 and notified Phase 1 owners on 10/27/2024. Phase 2 will include 2019-2020 LFS Artic vehicles. Interim letters informing owners of the safety risk were mailed on October 27, 2023. A second notice will be mailed to Phase 2 owners once the remedy is available, expected in January 2025.     Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova) is recalling certain 2022-2023 LFS transit buses. During the hose manufacturing, the power steering hose may not have been assembled correctly, which can result in hose fitting detachment and a loss of power steering assist.

    Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2022-2023 LFS battery electric transit buses. The coolant line in the high voltage battery pack may not be fully seated and locked, which can result in the loss of coolant and an electrical short circuit.

    Risk: A battery short circuit may increase the risk of a fire.

    Remedy: Nova Bus will work with Akasol, the battery pack manufacturer to inspect the battery packs, and replace them as necessary, free of charge.
