If this happens, the rearview camera image may not display correctly or may not display at all. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when reversing. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and advise you to bring your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the rearview camera wiring harness, apply a protective tape, and reroute it. If the wiring is damaged, the rearview camera and wiring harness will be replaced.

Under certain conditions (like hitting a curb or a large pothole), the tie rod(s) could bend and/or break and cause a partial loss of steering control. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail. Due to a parts supply issue, Nissan will advise you to take your vehicle to the dealership only if you experience a vibration in the steering wheel or if the steering wheel is off-center. When enough parts are available, Nissan will re-notify owners and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the left and right tie rods.

The dealer will also inspect the main body wiring harness connector for signs of moisture or corrosion, and replace the main body harness and engine room wiring harness as necessary.

The resulting loss of motive power, and change in steering and brake forces could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Additionally, in the event of a crash, this may also cause the airbags not to function. Correction: Dealers will inspect the lot number of the ignition switch, and replace it with a new one if it is affected. Note: Until the correction is performed, owners are advised to remove all objects from the ignition key ring, such as additional keys, key chains, etc.

For affected Leaf, NV200, Pathfinder, Q50 and JX35/QX60 vehicles, dealers will replace the occupant classification system electronic control unit.

Engine stalling would result in lost vehicle propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver’s reactions, could increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the positive battery terminal.
