On certain motorhomes, the door lock actuators on the baggage doors could malfunction and overheat if the battery voltage drops below 9.5 volts. This could cause melting of the actuator and the inner door material, increasing the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install a new low voltage disconnect module and wire harness. Note: This recall supersedes recall 2015-562. Vehicles repaired as part of the previous recall will require re-inspection and repair.

On certain vehicles built on a XBR Freightliner chassis, a rubber coated braided power steering hose may have inadequate clearance to the starter power stud due to incorrect routing. This could cause the power steering hose to rub against the stud on the starter motor, which could cause an electrical arc and a power steering fluid leak. A power steering leak in the presence of an electrical arc could increase the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. A power steering fluid leak could also require additional steering effort which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Daimler Trucks of North America Service Facilities will reroute the power steering hose to ensure proper clearance to starter stud.

On certain motorhomes equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. On certain motorhomes, the cargo door lock actuator on the baggage doors could overheat due to a faulty keyless entry module configuration. If operated with a battery voltage below 9.5 VDC, the actuator could chatter, overheat and melt along with a portion of the inner door material which would increase the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install a new low voltage disconnect module and wire harness. Note: This recall is superseded by recall 2018-329.
