  Issue: On a small number of vehicles, the right-rear door lock may not latch properly. As a result, the door could open while driving. Also, if a person tries to forcefully open the right-rear door while the child safety lock is activated, the door lock could become damaged. If this happens, passengers may not be able to open the door from inside the vehicle. Note: This recall is an expansion of Transport Canada recall no. 2021-285. Safety Risk: A door that opens while driving could create an increased risk of injury. A door that cannot be opened from inside the vehicle may make it difficult to get out in an emergency. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the right-rear door lock.

Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect, and if necessary, replace the front axle wiring harness. The dealer will also install a protective sleeve.

Safety Risk: If the child safety lock is not set correctly, a child may be able to open a rear door while with the vehicle is moving. Alternatively, the wrong setting could delay exiting the vehicle in an emergency. Both of these issues could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to cover the incorrectly embossed lock symbol on the rear doors with the correct labeling.

Safety Risk: If the ESP and ABS systems turn off suddenly or do not work properly, under certain road conditions, there could be an increased risk of a loss of control or a crash.
