Issue: On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Mercedes-Benz dealer during Transport Canada recall nos. 2025-041 or 2025-527 may not be effective. As a result, another repair is required. On certain vehicles, there could be a problem inside the high-voltage battery. As a result, the battery modules could overheat and short circuit. Safety Risk: A short circuit in the high-voltage battery can create a fire risk, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Mercedes-Benz recommends that you set the maximum charge setting of your vehicle at 80% and that you should park your vehicle outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs are completed. Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the high-voltage battery.

Issue: On one vehicle, the recall repairs completed by a Mercedes-Benz dealer during recall 5496507 (Transport Canada recall no. 2025-527) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required. On certain vehicles, there could be a problem inside the high-voltage battery. As a result, the battery modules could overheat and short circuit. Safety Risk: A short circuit in the high-voltage battery can create a fire risk. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Mercedes-Benz recommends that you set the maximum charge setting of your vehicle at 80% until the recall repairs are completed. Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the battery management system software.

Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Mercedes-Benz recommends that you set the maximum charge setting of your vehicle at 80% until the recall repairs are completed. Issue: On certain vehicles, the pyro fuse housing may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the pyro fuse could loosen and cause damage to the electrical wiring. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels. Additionally, the pyro fuse may not work during a crash or part of the fuse could detach and be propelled towards the driver's feet. UPDATE - After Mercedes-Benz notified Transport Canada about this problem, they determined that there are no Canadian vehicles affected by it. Accordingly, this safety recall was withdrawn. Safety Risk: There is no safety risk, as there are no Canadian vehicles affected by this problem. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. This notice was published for information only.

On certain vehicles, a weld inside the front axle electric drivetrain could fail and cause the park pawl not to work properly when you shift to the park (P) position. If this happens, the vehicle could move when it's parked and the parking brake isn't used. Safety Risk: A parked vehicle that rolls away could create the risk of an injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the front axle electric drivetrain.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the B-pillar trim could crack when a side curtain airbag deploys in a crash. If this happens, the side airbag(s) may not inflate properly and plastic pieces could be propelled toward people in the vehicle. Safety Risk: Plastic pieces that are propelled towards vehicle occupants could create an increased risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the interior B-pillar and beltline trim.
