888 units affected
On certain trailers, a brass fitting used to mount the air filter on the service brake air line could crack. This would result in a major air leak in the service brake line between the truck tractor and trailer, causing the trailer service brakes to be inoperative without prior warning and increasing the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the brass fitting with a steel replacement.
- Suspension#2011361
202 units affected
On certain semi-trailers, some components of the frame structure may develop cracks at the suspension and upper coupler areas. This could lead to poor vehicle handling characteristics which could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, repair weld the frame.
- Accessories#2011007
803 units affected
Certain semi-trailers were equipped with a Michel's Industries Select or Maximizer Sideroll tarp system which may contain defective Universal Joints. The U-Joint cross pin may not be a tight fit and, as such, could become loose and fall out, which would cause the tarp to be improperly secured. An improperly secured tarp can fall from the trailer and strike another vehicle, stationary object, or bystander, causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Michel's Industries will contact owners and supply them with U-Joint inspection procedures. If the U-joint is found to be the potentially defective type, owners will be provided with updated replacement parts.
