On certain vehicles equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. On certain fifth wheel and travel trailers equipped with a generator-ready option, if the fasteners on the power transfer switch are not tightened to proper specifications, the elevated electrical loads associated with RV use in higher ambient temperatures may cause overheating of the lugs and degrading of the electrical connections. This condition may result in further degradation of the electrical connections, elevated case temperatures and an increased risk of appliance and other property damage. Correction: Dealers will inspect the transfer switch for evidence of heat damage and verify the fastener torque. If the inspection reveals evidence of heat damage, the switch will be replaced.

Certain refrigerators used in Recreational Vehicles (RVs) contain either a sensing algorithm or a thermal switch to interrupt power when it detects high temperatures that could lead to a fire. An insufficient response time can result in the power not being shut-off in sufficient time to prevent a fire, which could result in property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will install a thermocouple with a faster response time for all refrigerators with a sensing algorithm or a thermal switch.

On certain fifth wheel and travel trailers, the Federal Identification Label and the Tire & Loading Information Label do not contain correct Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) and/or Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) information. The labels indicate a GAWR of 7,000 lbs per axle but instead should read 6,840 lbs. On 302 model trailers, the GVWR is indicated as 16,365 lbs instead of 16,045 lbs. And, on 322 model trailers, the GVWR is listed as 16,560 lbs instead of 16,240 lbs. Loading the vehicle beyond the actual GAWR and/or GVWR could result in poor vehicle handling characteristics, increasing the risk of a crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: Updated labels will be mailed to owners of affected vehicles along with instructions for proper installation.

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling various 2003-2018 Crossroads, Dutchmen, and Keystone recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V755-5127.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Risk: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Keystone will notify owners and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. KEYSTONE HAS REVISED THEIR REMEDY PROCESS AND IS AGAIN RECALLING CERTAIN 2009-2011 VEHICLES WITH THE GENERATOR READY OPTION, OR WITH STANDARD GENERATOR. SEE THE LIST ABOVE FOR THE AFFECTED MODELS. SOME IOTA ITS-50R TRANSFER SWITCHES ARE EXPERIENCING FAILURES WHEN EXPOSED TO HIGH ELECTRICAL LOADS. THE FAILURE IS CAUSING CONNECTIONS AND WIRING IN THE TRANSFER SWITCH TO DEGRADE AND OVER HEAT.
Risk: CONTINUED USE OF THE VEHICLE WITHOUT REPLACING THE TRANSFER SWITCH MAY DAMAGE OTHER APPLIANCES, INCREASE THE RISK OF A FIRE, PERSONAL INJURY, AND PROPERTY DAMAGE.
Remedy: KEYSTONE WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE TRANSFER SWITCH, FREE OF CHARGE. THE REMEDY FOR THE PREVIOUS RECALL (10V-594) WAS TO INSPECT AND TIGHTEN THE SWITCH CONNECTIONS. KEYSTONE IS RECALLING CERTAIN FIFTH WHEEL TRAILERS WITH A GENERATOR READY OPTION. IF THE TRANSFER SWITCH IS NOT INSTALLED TO THE PROPER SPECIFICATIONS, THE ELEVATED ELECTRICAL LOADS ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECREATIONAL VEHICLE USE IN HIGHER AMBIENT TEMPERATURES MAY CAUSE OVERHEATING OF THE LUGS AND DEGRADING OF THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS.
Risk: OVERHEATING OF THE CONNECTIONS COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.

KEYSTONE IS RECALLING CERTAIN RECREATIONAL VEHICLES AND FIFTH WHEEL TRAILERS EQUIPPED WITH 1200-SERIES NORCOLD REFRIGERATORS. THE POPULATION OF REFRIGERATORS BEING ADDRESSED CONTAINS EITHER A SENSING ALGORITHM OR THERMAL SWITCH TO SHUT OFF POWER TO THE REFRIGERATOR WHEN HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE DETECTED IN ORDER TO PREVENT A POTENTIAL FIRE. THE RESPONSE TIMES OF THE SENSOR ALGORITHM AND THERMAL SWITCH DEVICES TO STOP POWER ARE NOT SUFFICIENT.
Risk: THE SENSING ALGORITHM OR THERMAL SWITCH INSTALLED TO SHUT OFF POWER TO THE REFRIGERATOR WHEN HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE DETECTED DUE TO A POSSIBLE HYDROGEN GAS LEAK MAY NOT SHUT OFF IN SUFFICIENT TIME TO PREVENT A FIRE.

KEYSTONE IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 FUZION TRAVEL TRAILERS AND FIFTH WHEELS WITH THE TOURING EDITION II PACKAGE. THE REAR RAMP DOOR CABLE SUPPORT BRACKET BOLTS MAY FAIL WHEN THE DOOR IS USED IN THE PATIO POSITION.
Risk: A FALLING DOOR CAN LEAD TO AN INCREASED RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY IF A PERSON IS ON THE DOOR IN THE PATIO POSITION.

Risk: OVERLOADING THE TIRES CAN LEAD TO TIRE FAILURE INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
