Issue: On a small number of RV trailers, the wrong size spare tire was installed. A 14" spare tire was installed instead of a 15" tire. The tire and loading information label lists information for a 15" spare tire. This could lead you to inflate the spare tire incorrectly. Using a trailer with a spare tire that's not the correct size and/or is not properly inflated could cause poor handling and/or a tire failure. Safety Risk: Poor handling or a tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Jayco will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your trailer to a dealership to replace the spare tire.

Issue: On certain travel trailers, the interior cooktop burner could be affected by the operation of the furnace. This could potentially cause the burner flame to invert. Safety Risk: An inverted burner flame could create the risk of a burn injury or cause a fire. Corrective Actions: Jayco will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealer to seal any gaps that could allow return air from the furnace to cause an inverted flame on the cooktop. To minimize the safety risk, Jayco recommends that the furnace and interior cooktop should not be used at the same time before the recall repairs have been completed.

This recall only affects trailers equipped with a Winntec model 6020 propane regulator. Safety Risk: Unregulated propane pressure can create the risk of an appliance fire. Corrective Action: Jayco will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealer to replace the propane (LP) regulator.

Corrective Actions: Jayco will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your travel trailer to a dealer to install additional reinforcements on the spare tire carrier. Jayco advises that you should remove the spare tire until the recall repairs have been completed.

Issue: On certain travel trailers equipped with a Dometic propane gas stove, there could be an odour of propane gas after a short period of use. If a user attempts to tighten the bolt for the stove's valve in order to stop the smell, they could over-tighten the bolt and cause damage to a seal. This can result in a constant gas leak. Safety Risk: A propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. Corrective Action: Jayco will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealer to replace the defective hardware and perform a leak test. To reduce the safety risk, Jayco recommends that you should not use the propane system or any propane appliance in the trailer until the recall repairs have been completed.

Issue: On certain travel trailers, the wrong handle was installed on the emergency exit window. As a result, the handle could stop the emergency exit from opening properly. Safety Risk: An emergency exit that does not open properly could increase the risk of injury in an emergency. Corrective Actions: Jayco will notify owners by mail and provide them with a replacement handle for the emergency exit window. The owner may replace the handle, or take it to a Jayco dealer to have it replaced at no cost.

Issue: On certain travel trailers, the compliance label has some errors in the metric conversions. 1. The maximum cargo weight is listed as 80 kg, when it should be 807 kg. 2. The rear and spare tire pressures are listed as 5521 kPa and 5527 kPa, when they should be 552 kPa. All of the imperial data provided is correct. Safety Risk: These small errors are unlikely to affect safety. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. The company has made production changes to ensure that all new vehicles meet the requirements of Canadian regulations.

On certain travel trailers, the axles may not have enough grease on the inner hub bearings. This could cause the bearings to overheat and fail, potentially resulting in wheel lockup or separation. This may result in a loss of control causing a crash. In addition, a loose wheel assembly could strike another vehicle, stationary object, or bystander, causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will inspect all hub assemblies. If there is insufficient grease and the bearings are in new condition, the bearings will be repacked, and the hubs reinstalled. If the bearings show any signs of wear, the hubs and bearings will be replaced. If the axle beam shows any damage, it will also be replaced.

On certain vehicles equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. On certain travel trailers equipped with Sway Command, if the tow vehicles is equipped with a factory integrated brake controller, the operator could lose trailer brakes during a sway event due to a compatibility issue. The loss of trailer brakes could increase stopping distances and affect vehicle stability which could result in a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will remove the Sway Command system.
