Issue: On certain vehicles, the engine may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the engine could make abnormal noises and a warning light may turn on. If you continue to drive the vehicle with these symptoms, the engine could fail. Note: This recall only affects certain vehicles equipped with 1.5 L or 2.0 L variable compression engines. Safety Risk: An engine failure could cause a sudden loss of power to the wheels and/or increase the risk of a vehicle fire. Both issues could increase the risk of a crash or injury. Corrective actions: The company will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the engine. On certain vehicles, the dealer will also update the engine control module.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the wrong door latch may have been installed in the front passenger door. As a result, the automatic locking function won't work on that door. An unlocked door could open in a crash. Safety Risk: A door that opens in a crash could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Infiniti will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the right-front door lock assembly.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the rear axle housings may not have been properly heat-treated. As a result, a strong impact (such as hitting a curb) could cause a rear axle housing to bend or break. If this happens, a wheel could be mis-aligned or there could be a loss of control and a wheel could separate. Safety Risk: A loss of control and/or a wheel separation could increase the risk of a crash. A wheel that separates could also hit another person or vehicle. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the production date on the casting stamp of the rear axle housings. Parts that are affected by this problem will be replaced.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the front steering knuckles may not have been properly heat-treated. As a result, a strong impact (such as hitting a curb) could cause a steering knuckle to bend or break. If this happens, the steering wheel may become off-center or there could be a loss of steering control and a wheel could separate. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control and/or a wheel separation could increase the risk of a crash. A wheel that separates could also hit another person or vehicle. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the production date on the casting stamp of the front steering knuckles. Parts that are affected by this problem will be replaced.

This could be confusing and lead to overloading of the tires, which can cause poor handling and/or a tire failure. Canadian regulations require this information to be printed clearly on the label. Safety Risk: Poor handling or a tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Nissan will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the tire and loading information label. If there are printing errors, the label will be replaced.

Issue: On certain vehicles, the rear view camera system does not return to the default setting when the transmission is shifted to reverse. This could cause a reduction in rear visibility if a driver had previously adjusted the camera display. Canadian regulations require that the rear view image returns to its original setting each time the camera is turned on. Safety Risk: Reduced rear visibility could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to update the software for the rear view camera.
- Airbag#2018480

On certain vehicles, the trim cover for the passenger-side knee airbag could be defective and could detach during deployment in very cold temperatures. This may create a risk of injury to the seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will replace the passenger-side knee airbag module and the trim cover.
