    Issue: On certain school buses, the entrance door and driver's window body panels may not have been attached correctly. As a result, the bus may not meet the joint strength requirements of Canadian regulations, and the panels could separate in a crash. Safety Risk: A body joint that separates in a crash could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, add rivets to the affected joints.

    Issue: On certain school buses, the body panels on the side emergency door(s) may not have been attached correctly. As a result, the bus may not meet the joint strength requirements of Canadian regulations, and the panels could separate in a crash. Note: This recall only affects certain school buses equipped with either a left or a right-side emergency door. Safety Risk: A body joint that separates in a crash could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, add screws to the interior joints.

    Issue: On certain school buses, the brake lines may not be secured correctly. As a result, the brake lines could become damaged by contact with the steering shaft. This could lead to a brake fluid leak and cause reduced braking. Safety Risk: Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to replace the brake line retainer. The dealer will also inspect the brake lines for damage and replace them, if necessary.

  • Seats And Restraints#2025696

    Issue: On certain school buses, the wheelchair tie-down retractors may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the retractor(s) may not lock automatically. If this happens, the wheelchair may not be secured correctly and could move in a crash. Safety Risk: A wheelchair that moves in a crash could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, International Motors recommends you confirm the wheelchair is secured properly by attempting to move it before driving until the recall repairs have been completed. International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the wheelchair retractor(s).
