  Issue: On certain buses and school buses, the side windshield glass may have an incorrect marking. Canadian regulations require a marking to identify the type of glass that is used. Safety Risk: This small error does not affect safety. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. The company has made changes to ensure that all new side windshield glass is marked correctly.

If this happens, the parking brake could apply suddenly while driving. Note: This recall only affects certain school buses equipped with air brakes. Safety Risk: A parking brake that self-applies while driving could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to a dealership to reroute and secure the air line. If damage is found, the dealer will replace those sections.

  Issue: On certain school buses, brake fluid may be present in the brake pressure switch and wire harness. As a result, the brake switch could short circuit. Note: This recall is an expansion of recall 23518 (Transport Canada recall no. 2023-322). Certain school buses repaired under that recall require a second repair. Safety Risk: A short circuit can cause wiring to overheat and create the risk of a fire, even while the school bus is parked and turned off. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, International Motors advises that you should park your school bus outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repairs have been completed. International Motors will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your school bus to an authorized service facility to replace the brake pressure switch and wire harness.

If there is brake fluid found on the brake pressure switch connector or fuse, the wire harness will also be replaced.

As a result, the bolts may loosen over time and the rear axle could move from side-to-side. If this happens, there could be a sudden change in vehicle stability. Safety Risk: A sudden change in vehicle stability could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Navistar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your bus to a dealership to replace the bolts that attach the transverse torque arm to the rear axle, and tighten them correctly.

A sudden change in vehicle stability could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Navistar will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the affected hex flange lock nuts.

If the nut loosens, the steering wheel could detach and cause a loss of steering control. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control can create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: IC Bus advises you to park your school bus immediately until you can schedule an appointment with any IC Bus dealer to have your vehicle repaired. The dealer will remove and reinstall the steering wheel, apply thread-locking compound and tighten the nut correctly.
