Due to a parts supply issue, Honda advises that you should only take your vehicle to a dealership if the mirror is loose, vibrating or has fully detached. Honda will send you a second notice when the replacement parts are available, and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the glass on both side mirrors.

Corrective Actions: Honda will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the rear frame for corrosion. Depending on the outcome of the inspection, the dealer will either apply corrosion protection and install a support brace, or repair the frame. Honda will offer to repurchase vehicles that do not pass the inspection.

  Issue: This recall is for Honda Genuine Accessory tri-fold tonneau covers that were sold as an accessory by Honda dealers. There may be a problem with the bed-cover that could cause it to come loose while driving and detach from the truck. Safety Risk: A bed-cover cover that separates from a moving truck could create a hazard for other drivers and nearby people. Corrective Actions: Honda will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer for an inspection. If necessary, the dealer will install a tether between the center and rear panels of the tonneau cover to prevent them from separating. The dealer will also provide you with an updated accessory owner's manual and apply warning labels that remind you to properly secure the tonneau cover before driving. Note: Until the recall repairs are completed, you can prevent the tonneau cover from coming loose by removing and storing it.

  Issue: On certain vehicles, long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, may eventually degrade the propellant contained in the airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. If the airbag inflator ruptures, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants or cause damage to the airbag assembly, preventing its proper function. Note: This is a new recall campaign that includes vehicles that had an airbag inflator replaced under a previous recall or had a replacement airbag installed. The previous recall provided an interim (short-term) repair. Interim repair parts must be replaced with the final repair parts provided in this recall. Safety Risk: If the vehicle is involved in a crash requiring an airbag deployment, the airbag inflator could rupture and create a risk of injury. Corrective Action: Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the driver and/or passenger-front airbag inflator. Note: The Canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. This recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk. It is expected that all airbag inflators will be replaced before their function would be affected.

If it is within the affected range, the belt will be replaced. Additionally, dealers will inspect the engine for internal damage.

  Issue: During a car wash, water can drain from the truck bed onto the top of the fuel pump. Certain car wash detergents containing sulfuric acid could cause damage to the fuel pump. This could cause the fuel pump to crack and create a fuel leak. Safety Risk: Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could increase the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer for an inspection of the fuel pump. If the fuel pump is cracked, it will be replaced. Dealers will also install a fuel pump cover. Note: Owners who smell a fuel odour or believe there is a fuel leak should contact a dealer immediately.

  On certain vehicles, moisture could enter the rear wiring harness through a connection located underneath a drain hole in the truck bed and cause corrosion to form in some connection terminals. If corrosion of the rear wheel speed sensor terminals occurs, it could increase the electrical resistance and may be interpreted by the vehicle stability assist (VSA) as wheel slippage, resulting in a decrease of engine torque or brake application to the rear wheel(s). The unexpected and unnecessary application of brake assist while driving may increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the rear wiring harness and corresponding rear drivetrain components for moisture and/or corrosion. If present, the dealer will replace the rear wiring harness and corresponding components as necessary. If there is no moisture or corrosion, the dealer will repair the rear wiring harness to eliminate the potential for moisture intrusion.

  On certain vehicles, the driver frontal airbag inflator could produce excessive internal pressure during airbag deployment. Increased pressure may cause the inflator to rupture, which could allow fragments to be propelled toward vehicle occupants, increasing the risk of injury. Failure of the airbag to fully deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of personal injury to the seat occupant.
