Note: Vehicles that received a software update previously under a Honda product update, campaign no. P01 - 'Incorrect Rear View Camera View Mode', don't require this repair. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display the correct view mode could reduce a driver's field of view behind the vehicle. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Honda will notify owners by mail and have sent a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the vehicle software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Honda dealership.

  Issue: On certain vehicles, long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, may eventually degrade the propellant contained in the airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. If the airbag inflator ruptures, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants or cause damage to the airbag assembly, preventing its proper function. Note: This is a new recall campaign that includes vehicles that had an airbag inflator replaced under a previous recall or had a replacement airbag installed. The previous recall provided an interim (short-term) repair. Interim repair parts must be replaced with the final repair parts provided in this recall. Safety Risk: If the vehicle is involved in a crash requiring an airbag deployment, the airbag inflator could rupture and create a risk of injury. Corrective Action: Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to replace the driver and/or passenger-front airbag inflator. Note: The Canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. This recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk. It is expected that all airbag inflators will be replaced before their function would be affected.

The front driver and/or passenger seats may have been assembled with improperly manufactured rivets to secure the seat slide rails to the forward seat feet. In the event of a crash, the rivets may break and allow the front seat(s) to separate from the seat feet, which would fail to meet the requirements of the standard(s), and could increase the risk of injury to the seated occupant. Correction: For Pilot models, dealers will replace the “H” frame (seat rail assembly), on both front seats, and for affected MDX models, dealers will replace the driver’s seat frame assembly.

A loss of vehicle control could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and replace the bolts that were not torqued to specifications.
