  • Brakes#2019027

    191 units affected

Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with air brakes, water may build up on the right front brake drum while driving in very wet conditions. During a hard braking event, this could cause a brake pull to the left. Safety Risk: If the vehicle suddenly pulls to the left during braking, it could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to install newly designed brake drums with dust shields.

  • Engine#2017473

    458 units affected

On certain vehicles, the engines may have produced with improper retention of the connecting rod wrist pin bushing, causing the bushing to move out of position. If the vehicle is operated with this condition, the connecting rod could break resulting in a loss of motive power, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the defective connecting rod wrist pin assemblies.

  • Electrical#2012273

    9,072 units affected

On certain trucks, the positive battery cable (between the battery and the starter) could chafe against a convoluted tubing which, over time, could cause abrasion damage to the cable insulation, possibly resulting in an electrical short circuit. An electrical short could result in a vehicle fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the positive battery cable between the battery and the starter.

  • Wheels#2011422

    23 units affected

On certain trucks, wheel-end retainers may have been incorrectly installed on the front and rear axles during vehicle assembly. This could allow the wheel assembly to separate from the vehicle, which could cause a loss of control and a crash. In addition, the errant wheel assembly could strike a vehicle, a stationary object, or a bystander. These issues could result in property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, as necessary, replace the wheel bearings, lock washers, lock rings, and/or hub seals.
