Issue: On certain RV trailers, the circuit board for the LED light rings on the cooktop knobs could fail. As a result, the wiring and/or LED lights could overheat and melt. Note: This recall only affects RV trailers equipped with certain Suburban cooktops. Safety Risk: Wiring and/or lights that overheat and melt can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Highland Ridge will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your trailer to a dealership to disable or remove the LED light rings.

Issue: On certain RV trailers, the fabric for the patio awning may not be properly attached. As a result, the awning could detach and fall from the trailer. Safety Risk: An awning that falls from the trailer could create a risk of injury. An awning that falls from a moving vehicle could create road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Highland Ridge will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealership to inspect the fabric roll on the awning. It will be repaired or replaced, as necessary.

Note: This recall only affects trailers equipped with a Winntec model 6020 propane regulator. Safety Risk: Unregulated propane pressure can create the risk of an appliance fire. Corrective Action: Highland Ridge will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealer to replace the propane (LP) regulator.

Issue: On certain travel trailers equipped with a Dometic propane gas stove, there could be an odour of propane gas after a short period of use. If a user attempts to tighten the bolt for the stove's valve in order to stop the smell, they could over-tighten the bolt and cause damage to a seal. This can result in a constant gas leak. Safety Risk: A propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. Corrective Action: Jayco will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealer to replace the defective hardware and perform a leak test. To reduce the safety risk, Jayco recommends that you should not use the propane system or any propane appliance in the trailer until the recall repairs have been completed.

Issue: On certain motorhomes equipped with frameless windows, the glass may not be properly attached to the metal hinges. As a result, the glass could separate from the hinge and fall from the trailer. Safety Risk: A window that detaches from the trailer could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Jayco will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a dealer to inspect the adhesive bonding on the window glass. Dealers will replace the glass, if necessary.

Issue: On certain travel trailers, the compliance label has some errors in the metric conversions. 1. The maximum cargo weight is listed as 80 kg, when it should be 807 kg. 2. The rear and spare tire pressures are listed as 5521 kPa and 5527 kPa, when they should be 552 kPa. All of the imperial data provided is correct. Safety Risk: These small errors are unlikely to affect safety. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. The company has made production changes to ensure that all new vehicles meet the requirements of Canadian regulations.

Issue: The compliance label on certain travel trailers may list an incorrect Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). The label states the GVWR as 7,675 lbs. (3,481 kg) when it should state 7,600 lbs. (3,447 kg). This could lead to overloading of the trailer and cause poor handling or a tire failure. Safety Risk: Poor handling or a tire failure could cause a loss of control and result in a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to have the compliance label inspected and replaced as required.

Correction: Dealers will repair or replace the axle hubs and bearings as necessary.

Gas in the presence of an ignition source could increase the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install a newly designed gas valve handle, inspect the drawer guide for proper location, repair it as required and put a new label indicating that the gas valve must be turned prior to storing the outside range.

On certain travel trailers, a CAUTION label informing owners not to leave the drain valve open to prevent an escape of sewer gas was omitted during production. If the drain valve is left open, it could result in sewer gas potentially filling the recreational vehicle, which would increase the risk of asphyxiation to occupants. Correction: Highland Ridge RV will send a CAUTION label to current owners with instructions for proper placement. If owners are not comfortable installing the label themselves, they can take the label to a Highland Ridge RV dealer for installation.

Correction: Labels will be mailed to owners of affected vehicles, along with instructions for proper installation. Alternatively, owners can visit a Highland Dealer to have the new certification label applied. For the Toy Hauler model, dealers will install new axles and tires with a greater load capacity, as well as new labels.

The units require safety chains rated for 16,200 lbs, but were incorrectly outfitted with safety chains rated for 11,700 lbs. This could possibly result in the weight of the travel trailer breaking the weaker chains, which could allow the trailer to separate from the towing vehicle, possibly striking another vehicle, a stationary object, or a bystander, causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will remove the incorrect safety chains and replace them with the correct 16,200 lbs safety chains.

If the rivets were to fail, the steps could collapse which could cause a person to fall, resulting in injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and replace the rivets with stronger bolts.

On certain travel trailers and fifth wheels, the Norco slide room mechanisms could be defective. The drive train that controls the inward and outward motion of the room could have been manufactured with incorrectly rated screws. If the screws were to fail, the slide room could extend while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the defective screws with correctly rated screws.
