Issue: On a small number of buses, a problem with the drive belt tensioner could cause the belt to move or come off the pulleys. As a result, the alternator, power steering, and water pump could stop working. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels, a loss of power steering assist and/or the engine could overheat. Note: This recall only affects buses built on a General Motors chassis equipped with a second air conditioning compressor. Safety Risks: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. A loss of power steering assist could cause a sudden increase in steering effort and also increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, an engine that overheats could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Micro Bird will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your bus to a dealership to replace the drive belt and tensioner.

On certain buses equipped with a Ricon wheelchair lift, the lift platform sides may crack, which could cause the lift to lean against the vehicle door(s) and potentially fall out of the vehicle when the doors are opened, putting the lift operator at risk of injury. Correction: Owners will be provided with inspection and repair instructions, as well as necessary repair parts.

Correction: Ricon Corporation repair facilities will inspect lift platforms for cracks and repair as necessary, and install a repair kit.

An electrical short could result in a vehicle fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will modify the floor section and re-secure the wiring harness

Certain vehicles fail to comply with the strength requirements of CMVSS 207 - Anchorage of Seats, and CMVSS 210 - Seat Belt Anchorages. In the event of a crash, the seat and seatbelt assemblies may not restrain occupants as intended, which could result in personal injury or death. Correction: Dealers will install larger seat mounting plates to distribute the load over a larger floor area.
