    Issue: On certain trucks, the fasteners for the axle clamp(s) may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the clamps could loosen. If this happens, the axle could move and cause a loss of steering control. Note: This recall only affects certain trucks equipped with a TufTrac Gen 2 suspension. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will notify the owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect and tighten the axle clamp fasteners. The axle clamp castings will be replaced, as necessary.

    Issue: On certain trucks, a software problem could cause the brake lights not to work when the brakes are automatically applied during emergency braking. Safety Risk: Brake lights that don't work could cause others not to recognize when a vehicle is braking. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to update the active brake assist (ABA) software.

    Issue: Certain trucks were built with tires that are not approved for use with the truck's wheels. As a result, the tires may not perform properly, or a tire could fail. Safety Risk: A tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to replace the affected tires.

    Issue: On certain trucks, the tie rod end clamps could crack and loosen. If this happens, the threads on the tie rod end could become damaged and the tie rod end could separate. This could cause a loss of steering control. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to replace both tie rod end clamps.

  • Engine#2022413

    Issue: On certain trucks, a problem in the engine control module (ECM) could cause a short circuit. If this happens, the engine could stall and you may not be able to restart it. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Cummins will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a Cummins authorized service center to replace the engine control module.

    Issue: On certain trucks, a bolt for the upper joint on the steering shaft may not have been installed correctly. As a result, the joint could disconnect and cause a loss of steering. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control could create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a DTNA authorized service facility to inspect the upper joint on the steering shaft, and if necessary, re-install the pinch bolt.

  • SUSPENSION:CRITICAL FASTENERS#25V760000

    Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2020-2026 Western Star 49X, Freightliner Business Class M2, Freightliner 114SD, Freightliner 108SD, 2021-2026 Western Star 47X, 2021-2023 Freightliner 122SD, 2022 Western Star 48X, and 2023 Western Star 4700 vehicles. The axle clamp fasteners may be loose, which can result in a loss of vehicle control.

    Risk: A loss of vehicle control increases the risk of a crash.

    Remedy: Dealers will inspect and tighten the fasteners, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 29, 2025. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is F1027.

  • STEERING:LINKAGES:TIE ROD ASSEMBLY#23V238000

    Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2022 FCCC Shuttle Chassis, 2022-2023 FCCC RV Chassis, FCCC Van Chassis, Van Chassis Gas, 2023 Freightliner Cascadia, Freightliner Business Class M2, Thomas Built Bus School Bus Chassis, Western Star 4700, Western Star 47X, Western Star 4900, and Western Star 49X commercial buses. The tie rod may be missing a fastener, allowing the steer arm to detach.

    Risk: A detached steering arm can result in a sudden loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

    Remedy: DTNA will inspect and repair or replace the tie rod assembly as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 11, 2023. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL970.

  • ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECU/ECM)#22V554000

    Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2023 Freightliner 108SD, 114SD, Business Class M2, Cascadia, 2023 Freightliner FCCC MC, MT45, S2C 106CAB, XCM, S2RV 106CAB, XCR, XCS, and 2023 Western Star 4700, 49X, and 47X vehicles. The engine control module (ECM) may experience an internal short-circuit, which can result in an unexpected engine shut down.

    Risk: Unexpected engine shut down can increase the risk of a crash.

    Remedy: Cummins will replace the ECM, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 26, 2022. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-949.

  • STEERING#22V394000

    Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2023 Freightliner M2, 108SD, and 114SD vehicles. The u-joint pinch bolt on the steering shaft may become detached, which can cause a loss of steering control.

    Risk: Loss of steering control can increase the risk of a crash.

    Remedy: Dealers will inspect and repair the joint, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed august 1, 2022. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-937.
