Issue: On certain RV trailers, the fresh water tank may not be secured properly. As a result, the tank could fall from the frame and detach from the trailer. Safety Risk: A water tank that falls on the road could create a hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Forest River advises not to fill the fresh water tank until the recall repairs are completed. Forest River will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your trailer to a dealership to properly secure the fresh water tank.

Issue: On one RV trailer, the emergency trailer breakaway switch may not have been wired correctly. As a result, the trailer brakes may not automatically apply if the trailer separates from the tow vehicle. Safety Risk: A trailer breakaway switch that doesn't work properly could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The affected trailer has not been delivered to a customer. Forest River will instruct the dealer to rewire the trailer breakaway switch before the trailer is delivered.

Issue: On certain RV trailers and motorhomes, the quick disconnect fittings for the propane (LP) gas system may be defective. As a result, the fittings could crack and leak propane. Safety Risk: A propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. Corrective Actions: Forest River will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your RV trailer or motorhome to a dealership to replace the quick disconnect fittings on the propane system and perform a leak test.

As a result, the connections could loosen and cause a short circuit or electrical arcing (sparks). Safety Risk: A short circuit or electrical arcing could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Forest River will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealer to replace the shore power inlet.

If the trailer were to become uncoupled from the vehicle, underrated safety chains could fail causing the trailer to separate from the towing vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the underrated safety chains.

This could result in water entering the internal circuitry of the touch pad, potentially causing unintended extension or retraction of the power tongue jack. If this were to occur while the vehicle was in motion, it could result in loss of control and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the "Smart Jack" power tongue jack assembly with an updated version with improved water protection.

On certain travel trailers, the hinge assemblies of the rear cargo door may have been manufactured incorrectly. The weld on the hinge assembly had been ground down during manufacturing to ensure clearance when installed on a door. The grinding of the weld weakened the joint and, as a result, if the door were to be opened and the hinge assembly were to fail, the door could come down with more force than normal, increasing the risk of injury to a person standing nearby. Correction: Dealers will inspect the hinge assembly and replace as necessary.

On certain travel trailers manufactured with a Christianson Industries exterior foldable ladder, the ladder's mounting bracket could separate from the hinge due to an incorrect weld. This could result in the ladder separating from the vehicle, which if an individual were to be utilizing the ladder, it could lead to an increased risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install a hinge brace over the back of the existing hinges to secure the hinge and mounting bracket.
