    19 units affected

    On certain buses, the front observation window located directly above the windshield may have incorrectly received tempered safety glass. In the event road debris were to strike the glass, the window may shatter and glass could fall into the occupant compartment, increasing the risk of injury. Correction: Federal Coach will send new replacement laminate window to affected owners and will cover installation costs.

U.S. NHTSA recalls

    Champion Bus, Inc. (Champion) is recalling certain 2016-2018 Federal Coach Spirit vehicles. If the observation window that is located above the windshield is hit by road debris, it may shatter, resulting in glass falling into the driver and/or passenger compartment.

    Risk: Glass that falls into the driver or passenger compartment can increase the risk of a crash or an injury.

    Remedy: Champion will notify owners and dealers will replace the glass free of charge . The recall began January 9, 2019. Owners may contact Champion customer service at 1-810-724-1753 extension 415.
