On certain trailers, a manufacturing process error could lead to the formation of cracks on the underside of the frame rail flange in a 1 metre zone just forward of the front suspension hanger. This could result in the frame rails failing, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will remove the galvanizing in the affected area, inspect for cracks, and reapply the coating. Frames found exhibiting cracking in the affected zone will be replaced. Note: This is an expansion of recall 2017-187 to include 53’ Flatdeck semi’s. The affected 53’ Flatdeck Semi’s have exhibited cracking in the region extending 1.5 metres towards the rear of the landing gear brace mount, 0.5 metres towards the front of the landing gear brace, and in a 1 metre zone just forward of the front suspension hanger.
