Issue: On certain RV trailers, the axle could become damaged by contact with the frame. If this happens, there could be a loss of control. Safety Risk: A loss of control could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Keystone will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your trailer to a dealership to replace the axle equalizers. To reduce the safety risk, Keystone recommends that you should limit the towing of your trailer until the recall repairs are completed.

Issue: The compliance label on certain travel trailers lists incorrect information. The label incorrectly lists the tire pressure as 41 kPa (6 psi). The label should instead list the tire pressure as 550 kPa (80 psi). This information could lead you to underinflate the tires. Using a trailer with tires that are underinflated could cause poor handling and/or a tire failure. Safety Risk: Poor handling or a tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Keystone RV will mail a new compliance label to each owner. If you would like help to install the label, you can contact a Keystone RV dealer to have it installed free of charge.

Issue: On certain travel trailers, the wiring for the Wi-Fi switch may not have proper circuit protection. If a short circuit occurs, the wiring could overheat and melt. Safety Risk: Wiring that overheats or melts could create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Keystone RV will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your trailer to a dealer to remove the Wi-Fi switch and add a 7.5 amp fuse to the wiring. Keystone advises that the Wi-Fi switch should not be turned on until the recall repairs are completed.

Issue: On certain travel trailers, the emergency trailer breakaway switch may not be properly wired. If the trailer separates from a tow vehicle, the trailer brakes would not self-apply. Safety Risk: If the trailer breakaway switch does not work properly, there could be an increased risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their travel trailer to a dealer to inspect the breakaway switch. The switch will be re-wired as required.

On certain vehicles equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. On certain travel trailers, the furnace gas control valve could fail to close fully as the furnace shuts off. This could allow propane gas to continue to flow after the burner flame goes out. A propane gas leak, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire or an explosion, which could cause property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the furnace gas control valve.

On certain travel trailers, the plug-in remote control receiver used to operate the Dimplex electric fireplace or electric stove may overheat. This could result in a vehicle fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Owners are advised to contact Dimplex at 1-888-346-7539 for information regarding unit replacement. In the meantime, the remote control receiver should be unplugged from the electrical outlet to prevent the risk of fire.
