  Issue: On certain RV trailers and motorhomes, the fabric for the patio awning may not be properly attached. As a result, the awning could detach and fall from the vehicle. Safety Risk: An awning that falls from the vehicle could create a risk of injury. An awning that falls from a moving vehicle could create road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Forest River will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the fabric roll on the awning. It will be repaired or replaced, as necessary.

  Issue: On certain RV trailers and motorhomes, the quick disconnect fittings for the propane (LP) gas system may be defective. As a result, the fittings could crack and leak propane. Safety Risk: A propane gas leak could create the risk of a fire or explosion. Corrective Actions: Forest River will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your RV trailer or motorhome to a dealership to replace the quick disconnect fittings on the propane system and perform a leak test.

  On certain travel trailers, the break-away safety switch may not have constant power and could be disconnected from the trailer house battery when switching off the battery disconnect. If this occurs, the brakes of the tow vehicle would not engage in the event of a trailer disconnect, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will install a new wiring harness for the break-away safety switch.

  On certain motorhomes equipped with Kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: Owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by Kidde directly. Correction: Dealers will install the missing reinforcement stiffeners.

  On certain travel trailers, there may be insufficient space between the slideroom driveshaft and the trailer’s driver’s side tires. If a tire continuously rubs against or repeatedly makes contact with the driveshaft, this may result in tire failure, which could increase the risk of loss of vehicle control and/or a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will install a new gear pack that is smaller in size and a cross shaft that is narrower in width to allow for a sufficient distance between the tire inside wall and the slideroom driveshaft.

As a result, the awning could strike another vehicle, a stationary object, or a bystander, causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the awning motor.

  Certain travel trailers originally equipped with spoke or modular design steel wheels may have poor weld quality between the wheel center disk and outer rim. The wheels which have a six (6) hole bolt pattern were manufactured by Xingmin Wheel and bear the rim stamp "07 10 06 Z" or "08 10 16 B" on the back side of the rim. The poor weld could cause the outer rim portion of the wheel to fail. A wheel separating from the vehicle could cause a loss of control and a crash. In addition, the errant wheel assembly could strike a vehicle, property, or a bystander. Both problems could cause property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will inspect the wheels for the specific rim identification markings and replace as necessary.
