Issue: On certain vans converted to a rear-entry mobility vehicle by BraunAbility, the fittings for the brake line extensions may be incorrect. This could cause a brake fluid leak that may result in reducing braking. Note: This problem affects conversions that were built between January 9, 2018, and May 20, 2019. Safety Risk: Reduced braking could cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a BraunAbility dealer to inspect the brake line connections. If necessary, an adapter fitting will be installed and the brake system will be bled.

  • Other#2013029

    62 units affected

On certain Toyota Sienna vans converted to lowered floor mobility vehicles by the Braun Corporation, the toe pan panel installed during the vehicle modification process could interfere with the accelerator pedal. This could result in a stuck throttle when the accelerator pedal is fully or almost-fully depressed. A stuck throttle may result in very high vehicle speeds and make it difficult to slow or stop the vehicle if the transmission is not shifted into neutral. This could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will modify the toe pan panel.
