Issue: On certain motorcycles, the front brake hose could crack and leak. This could cause a reduction or loss of front braking. Note: This does not affect the rear brake. Safety Risk: A reduction or loss of front brakes could increase stopping distances and create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their motorcycle to a dealer to have the front brake hose replaced.

  • Brakes#2015527

    198 units affected

On certain motorcycles, the front brake hose could fatigue and crack due to tight left turning manoeuvres. The outer protective covering of the brake hose may kink due to excessive bending stress, causing the outer jacket of the brake line to crack, potentially resulting in a brake fluid leak. If brake fluid leakage occurs, the maximum front brake pressure may not be able to be applied. This would also increase stopping distances and could affect braking control, which could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace the front brake hose with one of an improved design.

  • Engine#2014179

    163 units affected

On certain motorcycles, the timing chain tensioner may have been manufactured incorrectly and could allow the timing chain tension to loosen, causing an audible noise. If the motorcycle is operated in this state, this could eventually result in engine breakdown and a loss of motive power, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will replace the timing chain tensioner.

  • Electrical#2014045

    662 units affected

On certain motorcycles, the side stand switch could malfunction. This could result cause the engine to stall while riding resulting in a loss of motive power, potentially increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: Dealers will replace the side stand switch.

  • Other#2012404

    58 units affected

On certain motorcycles, the fairing side panels can loosen and detach from the vehicle while it is traveling at very high speeds. A fairing panel separating from the vehicle could strike the rider or passenger, another vehicle, a stationary object, or a bystander, causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the fairing side panel fasteners.
