  • Steering#2020359

    8 units affected

Issue: On certain buses, the nut that attaches the steering wheel to the steering shaft may not have been properly tightened. If the nut loosens, the steering wheel could detach and cause a loss of steering control. Safety Risk: A loss of steering control can create the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Blue Bird will notify owners by mail and provide instructions for how to inspect the torque of the steering wheel nut. If it is not properly tightened, the nut must be torqued as indicated in the recall instructions.

  • Brakes#2020200

    29 units affected

Issue: On certain buses, the parking brake may not have been adjusted correctly. As a result, it may not hold the bus when parked. Under certain conditions, like while parked on an incline, this could allow the bus to roll away. Safety Risk: A parked bus that moves unexpectedly could increase the risk injury and/or a crash. Corrective Actions: You should park the bus on a level surface and properly chock the wheels until the parking brake assembly has been inspected. Blue Bird will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to an authorized repair facility to have the parking brake assembly inspected and adjusted, as necessary.
