Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could allow you to close the sunroof remotely without the key fob being near the vehicle. Canadian regulations require the key fob to be in or near the vehicle when closing the sunroof. Safety Risk: A sunroof that can be closed without the key fob in or near the vehicle could create a risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Audi will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the sunroof control unit. The dealer will also provide you with an insert to the owner's manual.

Note: This problem can only happen if there is a fault related to the power steering system. The power steering warning light would stay on to advise that there is a fault with the steering system. Safety Risk: This small error does not affect vehicle safety. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. The company has made changes to the vehicle software to correct this issue on all new vehicles.

If the vehicle were to be turned off while the sunroof is closing, the sunroof may continue to move towards the closed position instead of stopping, which is contrary to the standard. This could result in injury to a vehicle occupant if they were in the way of the sunroof as it was closing. Correction: Dealers will reprogram the vehicle's sunroof software.
