    Issue: On certain aerial devices, hydraulic oil may leak from fittings, incorrectly routed hoses, and/or from the PTO and pump. This could result in hydraulic oil leaking onto the exhaust system. Note: This recall only affects aerial devices mounted on Ford F-350, F-450 and F-550 trucks equipped with a gas engine. Safety Risk: An oil leak onto a hot exhaust system could cause a fire. Corrective Actions: Altec Industries will notify owners by mail and provide you with instructions for how to inspect and repair your vehicle. The instructions will require you to inspect for oil leaks, improper hose routing and replace certain parts.

    On certain aerial devices installed on Ford F450 and F550 vehicles equipped with Stable Ride front torsion bars, improper welding could cause the torsion bar to fail, affecting aerial device stability in certain work positions, which could increase the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Owners will be given instructions on how to inspect sway bars for improper welding and supplied with replacement sway bars as necessary. Owners may contact Altec at 1-877-462-5832.

    On certain aerial units mounted on Ford F550 chassis, an electrical battery cable going to the unit auxiliary functions could be damaged and short to ground, potentially resulting in a fire which could increase the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Owners will be supplied with instructions on how to re-route the cable to prevent damage.
