Transport Canada recalls

03
  • Structure#2024225

    358 units affected

Issue: On certain transit buses, the roof hatch (emergency exit) may not be able to be opened. This could prevent occupants from using this emergency exit and/or delay occupants from escaping the bus in an emergency. Note: This recall only affects buses with a double-paned roof emergency exit. Safety Risk: An emergency exit that can't be opened could slow your exit from the bus in an emergency. This could increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Alexander Dennis will notify owners in writing and provide them with updated safety instruction labels and instructions for how to install a secondary release button. Alternatively, Alexander Dennis will arrange for a service team to complete the recall repairs.

  • Fuel System#2021282

    245 units affected

Issue: On certain buses, the fuel rail assembly could develop a leak. Note: This recall only affects buses equipped with a Cummins L9 or ISX12 diesel engine. Safety Risk: A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Cummins will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your bus to a Cummins authorized service center to inspect the fuel rail. If damage is found, the fuel rail and fuel lines will be replaced. If no damage is found, the fuel rail will be reassembled with new crush washers using a special tool.

  • Brakes#2016283

    6 units affected

On certain buses equipped with Wabco Tristop park/spring brake actuators at time of assembly, or during subsequent servicing, the actuators used may have been incorrectly assembled by Wabco. This could cause the park/spring brake function of the actuator to fail, causing a loss of parking brake function at the wheel controlled by the actuator. This could increase the risk of a vehicle rollaway, potentially causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace affected actuators.
