    Issue: On certain RV trailers, the entry door window glass may not properly adhere to the metal frame. As a result, the glass could separate from the window frame and fall from the trailer. Safety Risk: A glass panel that detaches from the trailer could create a hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Airstream will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your RV trailer to a dealership to inspect the entry door window glass. The dealer will install a trim strip to secure the window and, if necessary, replace the window.

    Issue: On certain travel trailers, the bolts that secure the roof-mounted air conditioner could loosen or break. As a result, the air conditioner could detach from the trailer while driving. Safety Risk: An air conditioner that falls from the trailer could create a road hazard for others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Airstream will notify owners by mail will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to inspect the mounting of the air conditioner. The dealer will install additional foam support blocks under the rear of the air conditioner and replace the mounting bolts. If the new bolts are unable to be tightened correctly, the air conditioner will be replaced.

    Issue: On certain travel trailers, a defect in the Demco ball coupler could allow it to separate from the hitch ball while being towed. If this happens, the trailer could disconnect from the tow vehicle. Safety Risk: A travel trailer that disconnects from the tow vehicle creates the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Airstream will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to add shims on the backside of the ball coupler to increase clamping force on the tow ball.

    Issue: The compliance label on certain travel trailers may be missing information about the spare tire. This information is required by Canadian regulations. Using a tire that is not properly inflated, or that is the wrong size, could cause a tire failure or result in poor driving performance. Safety Risk: A tire failure could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: A new compliance label will be mailed to each owner. Owners who would like help installing the label can contact Airstream Customer Service.

  • Label#2019003

    Issue: The tire information printed on the Compliance label and Tire Placard are incorrect. The information printed was for 235/55R18 Load Range D tires with 80 psi, when it should have been for 235/75R15 Load Range D tires with 51 psi. Safety Risk: The use of a tire that is overinflated, or of the wrong size, could cause a tire failure or poor towing/driving characteristics that may increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Corrective Actions: Corrected labels will be sent to affected customers and dealers for installation.
