Mesures correctives : Toyota recommande de cesser immédiatement d'utiliser les chauffe moteurs touchés. Toyota signalera le problème aux propriétaires concernés par courrier et leur demandera d'amener leur véhicule chez un concessionnaire, afin que le chauffe-moteur soit désactivé. Pour certains véhicules, les mesures correctives liées au présent rappel sont en cours d'élaboration. Pour d'autres, aucun nouveau chauffe-moteur ne peut être installé, si bien que les propriétaires intéressés s'en verront rembourser le prix d'achat.

  Problème : Sur certains véhicules, du liquide de direction assistée pourrait fuir de la crémaillère à cause d'un défaut. Cela pourrait entraîner une perte de l'assistance à la direction. Remarque : Pour les modèles 2007-2020, ce rappel ne concerne que 41 véhicules dans lesquels le boîtier de direction a été remplacé en 2021. Risques pour la sécurité : Une perte de direction à assistance pourrait entraîner une augmentation soudaine de l'effort de direction, en particulier à basse vitesse. Cela pourrait augmenter les risques de collision. Mesures correctives : Toyota doit aviser les propriétaires par la poste et leur demander d'amener leur véhicule chez un concessionnaire Toyota pour faire inspecter et remplacer la crémaillère au besoin.

  Sur certains véhicules, une application non uniforme de graisse durant le processus de fabrication pourrait faire en sorte que le commutateur principal des glaces électriques du côté du conducteur se coince ou cesse de fonctionner en raison d'une usure au niveau d'un point de contact électrique. Cela pourrait permettre l'accumulation de débris entre les points de contact, ce qui pourrait provoquer un court-circuit. En cas de court-circuit, le commutateur pourrait surchauffer, produire de la fumée, fondre et/ou provoquer le déclenchement d'un feu pouvant entraîner des blessures ou des dommages matériels (ou les deux). Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter le commutateur principal des glaces électriques du côté du conducteur et appliquer de la graisse spécialisée qui empêche l'accumulation de chaleur, ou remplacer la carte de circuits imprimés du commutateur principal des glaces électriques, selon les besoins.   Sur certains véhicules munis d'un couvre-bagages optionnel dont le panneau le plus à l'avant peut être ouvert avec la clé de contact du véhicule, le barillet de serrure pourrait se bloquer. Si le barillet de serrure se bloquait en position ouverte, le panneau pourrait ne pas demeurer fermé et le couvre-bagages pourrait se détacher du véhicule pendant que le véhicule roule. Cela pourrait endommager des biens matériels et mettre en danger les autres usagers de la route. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront effectuer les réparations lorsque les pièces nécessaires seront disponibles. Entre-temps, le mécanisme de relâchement du panneau devra être mis hors-service ou le couvre­bagages devra être enlevé, au choix du propriétaire.

  Sur certains véhicules, le joint coulissant de l'arbre de transmission pourrait faire défaut. Cela pourrait permettre à l'arbre de transmission de se détacher (au niveau du joint) et de toucher à la route, ce qui pourrait entraîner une perte de contrôle du véhicule et un accident. De plus, un détachement de l'arbre de transmission entraînerait une perte de propulsion qui, en conjonction avec la densité de la circulation, l'état de la route et les réactions du conducteur, pourrait augmenter les risques d'accident. Dans tous les cas, des biens matériels pourraient être endommagés ou quelqu'un pourrait être blessé. Correction : Les concessionnaires devront inspecter et, si nécessaire, remplacer l'arbre de transmission.

  Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain JTEKT power steering gear assembly service parts for 2007-2021 Tundra and 2008-2022 Sequoia, part numbers 44250-0C160, 44250-0C131, 44250-0C170, and 11250-0C121. The power steering gear assembly may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can result in an oil leak.

  Risque: An oil leak may cause a sudden loss of power steering assist, increasing the risk of a crash.

  Correctif: Dealers will inspect and replace the power steering gear assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on February 17, 2022. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is 21TH01.

• VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS#15V689000en anglais seulement22 octobre 2015

  Toyota Motor Company (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2009-2011 Tundra, Sequoia, Corolla, Corolla Matrix and Scion xB, 2008-2011 Highlander and Highlander Hybrid, 2007 Camry and Camry Hybrid, 2009 Camry and Camry Hybrid, 2006-2011 RAV4, 2006-2010 Yaris, and 2009-2010 Scion xD and Pontiac Vibe vehicles. During the manufacturing of the Power Window Master Switch (PWMS), grease lubricant may have been inconsistently applied to the sliding electrical contacts.

  Risque: If the sliding electrical contacts are not protected by lubricant, debris and moisture that get into the switch may cause a short circuit and the switch assembly may overheat and melt, increasing the risk of a fire.

  Correctif: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the switch, applying a lubricant if no abnormality is found. If abnormality is found, the PWMS circuit board will be replaced, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin December 20, 2015. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. • SEATS:FRONT ASSEMBLY:SEAT HEATER/COOLER#14V743000en anglais seulement19 novembre 2014

  Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) is recalling certain model year 2010-2011 Prius and Corolla, 2009-2011 Venza, 2006-2010 Avalon, 2007-2010 FJ Cruiser, 2005-2011 Sienna and Sequoia, 2006-2011 Tacoma 4x2 and 4x4, Camry, Highlander, Tundra 4x2 and 4x4, and 2007-2011 Rav4 and 4Runner. The affected vehicles may experience compression of the seat cushion which may damage the seat heater wiring.

  Risque: Damage to the seat heater wiring could cause the wires to short, increasing the risk of the seat burning and causing personal injury to the occupant.

  Correctif: SET will notify owners, and dealers will disconnect the heaters with copper strand heating elements and refund the purchase price of the seat heater accessory, free of charge. The recall is expected to began in January 2015. Owners may contact SET customer service at 1-866-405-4226.

  Southeast Toyota is recalling certain model year 2008 and 2010-2013 Toyota Tundra, 2010-2012 Rav4, 2012 Toyota Sequoia, 2010-2011 Toyota Corolla, 2010-2011 Toyota Camry and Camry Hybrid, 2010-2013 Toyota Highlander and Highlander Hybrid, 2010-2013 Toyota FJ Cruiser, 2011 Toyota Land Cruiser, 2010-2013 Toyota Venza, 2010-2011 Toyota 4Runner, 2010-2013 Toyota Tacoma, 2011-2012 Toyota Sienna, 2012 Toyota Prius, 2013 Scion FR-S, 2011 Scion XD, 2011 Scion XB, and 2012 Scion TC vehicles. These vehicles were sold with labels that were outside the allowable one percent of accuracy of actual weight added. Thus, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) Number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

  Risque: An inaccurate label could lead to owners overloading their vehicles and tires. An overloaded vehicle can result in a tire failure which may result in a vehicle crash, personal injury, or property damage.

  Correctif: Southeast Toyota will notify owners and provide a corrected label with instructions concerning its installation. A small group of the affected vehicles will need additonal remedies which are still being developed. The recall began on May 28, 2013. Owners may contact Southeast Toyota at 1-800-301-6859.

• AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE-INACTIVE#13V014000en anglais seulement16 janvier 2013

  Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) is recalling certain models interspersed through model years 2009 through 2013 as follows: model year 2009-2012 Tacoma, 4Runner, Camry, Camry Hybrid, Prius, and RAV4; model year 2009-2010 Avalon, FJ Cruiser, and Highlander Hybrid; model year 2010-2013 model year Corolla, Sienna and Tundra; model year 2009-2013 Highlander and Venza; model year 2012 Prius V; and model year 2010-2012 Sequoia. During modification by SET to include accessories such as leather seat covers, seat heaters or headrest DVD systems, these vehicles may not have had the passenger seat occupant sensing system calibration tested. Without passing the calibration test, the occupant sensing system may not operate as designed.

  Risque: If the front passenger seat occupant sensing system is out of calibration, the front passenger airbags may not deploy or they may deploy inappropriately for the passenger's size and position. This could increase the risk of personal injury during the event of a vehicle crash necessitating airbag deployment.

  Correctif: Southeast Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will test the sensitivity of the occupant detection sensors, and recalibrate them as necessary. The recall began on March 21, 2013. Owners may contact Southeast Toyota at 1-800-301-6859.

WHEN FACTORY-INSTALLED WHEELS AND TIRES WERE REPLACED WITH TOYOTA AUTHORIZED ACCESSORY WHEELS AND LT TIRES PRIOR TO FIRST SALE, THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEMS WERE NOT RE-CALIBRATED CORRECTLY AND THEREFORE DO NOT START ILLUMINATING THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE WARNING TELLTALE AT THE REQUIRED MINIMUM ACTIVATION PRESSURE.

  Risque: FAILURE TO WARN OF TIRE DEFLATIONS IS A NON-COMPLIANCE WITH FMVSS 138 AND COULD LEAD TO TIRE FAILURE INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

  Correctif: FOR THE LAND CRUISER, SEQUOIA, TACOMA AND TUNDRA VEHICLES, THE DEALER WILL RE-CALIBRATE THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM ON AFFECTED VEHICLES AND INSTALL AN UPDATED TIRE AND LOADING INFORMATION LABEL AT NO CHARGE. FOR THE FJ CRUISER VEHICLES, THE TPMS CANNOT BE RESET SO THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU) FOR THE TPMS WILL BE REPLACED. TOYOTA IS CURRENTLY DEVELOPING THE REMEDY ECU.
